‘Evils Dead’ isn’t trying to reinvent itself. You know pretty much what you’re going to get. But the presentation and deliver are so well done that it remains my favorite horror series to this day.
I've noticed over the years that mystery is a key element to what makes most scary movies actually scary. That's why most franchises get tired, and less scary as time goes on, we just know too much about Michael Myers at this point, he's not as scary as he was when there was still the aura of mystery.
One thing I love about Evil Dead is that the franchise is pretty popular among horror movie lovers, and yet, they haven't done it to death like they do with most franchises nowadays. We get an Evil Dead movie once every decade or more.
Evil Dead is definitely my favorite. Nightmare on Elm St is my second favorite. I got to grow up with Freddy and Ash. I like comedy in my horror. Freddy is my favorite horror villain, but Ash is my favorite hero. I remember watching Night of the Living Dead and I think I fell asleep before the end. I usually do if it's just straight horror. I need some comedy thrown in, even if it's just dark humor.
Scream 5 is NOT a requel as it references the first 4 movies a plenty and is a direct sequel to them. It actually comments on requels to legacy franchises and the emergence of the elevated horror subgenre.
there's no such thing as Elevated horror, scream 5 remakes many scenes from the original. it;s a dumb entry, only good part, David Arquette's performance.
@@jessiesmyth1949 it's a sequel, not a remake or a reboot a requel is a sequel to at least 1 movie and ditches the other sequels as part of an entire different continuity is Scream 5 a requel to Scream 1? no, it's a sequel to all 4 movies as it referenced them a plenty Halloween 2018 is a requel to the OG Halloween from 1978 Superman Returns is a requel to Superman 2 did you even watched the entire Scream series, dipshit? of course not cause if you did, you wouldn't have replied such a dumb comment
If there’s an Evil Dead sequel, I hope it has Beth and Kassie meet with Ash Williams and Mia Allen (2013 Evil Dead) and they team up to destroy the Deadites for good (Similar to Scream 5-6 and Escape Room 2). In the end, they succeed but Beth dies along with Mia (who goes out like a badass with her one arm) and maybe Ash too, leaving Kassie as the sole survivor
Sadly Ash the Character is retired as Bruce Campbell isn't playing him anymore. They tried with Ash vs The Evil Dead but it didn't take off and the lack of monetary support caused it to be canceled and Bruce after that said no more.
0:27 The Conjuring 1:40 Friday the 13th 2:59 it 4:12 Invisible man 5:20 final destination 6:33 child's play 7:50 Candyman Night of the living dead Scream
Me, too! I loved the Friday the 13th remake! I thought it was done really well. Actually, I also thought the remake of Nightmare on Elm Street was pretty great, too. I love how it fleshed out all the characters' backstories instead of just hearing Nancy's mom tell Nancy he was a child killer. It made more sense in the remake. I think I'm in the minority on that one, though lol
I have never understood how anyone could take the Child's Play series seriously. In one movie they managed to capture him in a playpen and only escaped because of a ring that was dropped in. The main villain is literally a doll, so his kills make sense when the characters don't know he is alive, but make no sense when he is chasing them or they find out. Chucky can't even open a door without a step-ladder.
6:15 ~ there's a lawsuit if I ever witnessed one. Contractor: Tempered panes on the fourth floor as usual, sir? Architect: Actually, we're close to budget so what's the cheapest you have? Contractor: There's some leftover float glass from another project we did but it's not exactly-- Architect: PERFECT, let's make it happen! (sketch, sketch, scribble)
Scream series is fantastic😁 Watched 4. Haven't seen the rest yet😊IT is terrifying. Haven't seen it. I remember parts of Evil Dead. I was little. Friday the 13th probably has 15 sequels by now😂 Great video😀
I’ve always said the Evil Dead is the best horror franchise ever created. 5 movies, 1 tv series, countless graphic novels/comics and not one of them is considered bad or worst
We're not talking about iconic movies here. Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, Child's Play, Halloween, Hellraiser, all these big movies that turned into comedies over time. This video is for the great examples of IT and Evil Dead and Scream that got better their sequels.
Friday the 13th started getting silly after Part VII where he gets his ass kicked by a girl with telekinesis (they were originally going to include Carrie, but couldn't get the rights, so they just make a knock-off of her).
Where are all of the horror movies on regular TV? Friday the 13th came and went without any horror movie on regular TV. Bummer!! Let's hope Halloween gets one!!
WHAT??????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How come V/H/S, Paranormal Activity, and Hellraiser franchises aren't on this list???????????????????? This is a total injustice. Maybe, this video should be a top 20 list instead of a top 10.
That 2021 version of Candyman sucked. It was not good. It was bad. It was terrible. It didn't even feel like a Candyman movie. It felt like a social criticism movie with "Candyman" sprinkled in there to try to keep it about him. Just bad.
Man. Who does Chucky sound like in curse of chucky? Driving me crazy. It’s like some 90s voice, a comedian? Adam Sandler? Also ng those lines? One of his self characters? Gonna drive me nuts
The Living Dead series is my favourite coupled with Chucky....although the latest Evil Dead was REALLY gory and I've always liked the first three originals.
Honestly, I’m not much of a horror person, but I did like THE INVISIBLE MAN (2020). I can imagine in a couple of years, this list will be updated when FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY’S gets a movie franchise of it’s own.
The fact that the Halloween franchise wasn't even mentioned on this list, yet Friday the 13th and IT (not even a framchise) made the cut makes this list hot garbage! 😂
evil dead rise is my favorite one it chapter 1 and chapter 2 it’s my most favorite ones final destination, four and five three two child’s play 1988 child’s play two and three four five leprechaun in the Hood with ice t back to the hood also Idle hands Mötley Crüe style rob Zombie, of course Texas, chainsaw, 3d Texas chainsaw massacre with Jessica Biel and Jordana Brewster
Also she mispronounced la Llorona, which at this point is getting really annoying. It's always British narrators that do it too. Even Canadians know how to pronounce Spanish words, idk what their excuse is.
Even though it wasn't on the list, I think that the Halloween franchise is the best. Sure the original set of sequel weren't the best, still good in there own way. And did I mention Micheal fuckin Myers.
