A statement from director Thomas Simon: "In many ways, I’ve always been a storyteller. I grew up watching world cinema as my brother worked in a video store, and fell in love with the craft of filmmaking somewhere along the way. After finding my path as a commercial cinematographer, I started the long task of becoming the filmmaker I wanted to be, as opposed to emulating the work of the ones I admired. My first two short films, “Wolf & Short” and “Guys, Last Night”, were a comedic exercise produced to sharpen my skills as a narrative director. Feeder was written effortlessly, from a need to create a story that was both original in its concept and execution, but also paid homage to the classics of horror I grew up with and cherished. Inspired by movies like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) and Deliverance (1972), I wanted Feeder to stand on its own two feet and extend the genre into rarely seen territory. The key to this creative puzzle came in the form of our antagonist’s secret weapon: The Beasts. They are the element that gives him a reason to kill, gives this film an edge and transports the world into the realm of science fiction, opening the gates for a more complex narrative. The story is thus set in a near future, a time where animals have almost completely been decimated, and the only source of food left for the hybrid beasts are human beings. Feeder is one hell of a ride, it’s a fun time in the cinemas or at home with friends, it’s self aware and not trying to reinvent the wheel of horror, just push the cart a little further up the hill. This film is the proof of concept of an upcoming feature we are currently gathering funding for."

It's not always about the plot but rather its delivery. It was more profound NOT to see the killings, more profound NOT to hear him speak rather than if he did. The expression on the storekeeper's face spoke that he was a keeper of secrets and I valued the authenticity of the store's clutter. I respect the delivery of those few seconds it took him to gather strength to pick up that blue carrier, that hair...sincere to the horror of her fate. The delivery of never seeing the monster in the back of the truck but rather seeing the monster who drove it. I even liked the blood dried and brown. I could go on and on. I love horror. This was good.

The hunter never speaks throughout the whole movie and when he finds his "prey" he stalks them close by never being noticed like a true predator. They always put a lot of detail and creativity into these videos which is why I can't stop watching them great work!

Love the way he left everything to the viewer's imagination. Obviously, this happens in the neck of these woods way too often. That's why when I go camping or fishing I bring my 9MM. However, this hunter knew what he was doing and I doubt if the average Joe would be able to dodge that scope. Cruel World. Real World.

Leaving it to the viewer's imagination is just a cheap and easy way out of writing a complete and satisfying story. And I don't feel like this "obviously happens way too often." I'd ask how often you've had to use your 9mm to defend yourself against a lunatic in the woods, but I'm guessing it's less than once.

I've had three ltrs. None of them have been "good" for me, but have worked to some extent. This is actually how genuine couples talk, from my experience. Just sayin'. Not the most loving of couples, just most couples. Over time, couples with kids learn to disguise their petty differences, ignore them, and just watch separate t.v.s, or make a second pot of chili, without the beans, or whatever. Relationships are hard work.

The murder is chilling because it depicts reality. Once you’ve been targeted, it doesn’t matter how strong or smart you think you are, because you’re already caught in their web. excellent sets! Wardrobes and lighting! Out door film is always a trick! I use to be a amateur film maker as a matter of fact I still own 3 cameras 🎥 like a Sony, a Nikon 75D etc. and god amounts of software...all Apple and adobe creator and pro tools for all the and FX, foley work and music. I’m also a professional musician so writing scores was a blast... I tried to use sets as much as possible but like anything, money ruined me. I still have scripts I have written that sit. No money to make films...so all my stuff sits in my studio! Collecting dust... probably 30k of hardware and 6k in software...lots of money 💰...bless u all and kudos to all the work! I loved shooting at night in a forest. I used very powerful lamps in the distance and fog lamps for that Ethereal feel. And I think the music and sound FX were my favorite. Nothing more frightening than “hearing” what u think is there! Never ever show the monster! Bc the monster is u! It resides in all of us! Just below the surface itching to come out! Feel that itch? Don’t scratch! Kudos to all that worked on this production...especially the financiers!!!!

This could be the main plot of a casual slasher/horror film, without showing the unecessary details, like: a group of teens teasing each other, smoking pot, having sex and travel to the woods for a weekend, to find them selves killed by a psycho which feeds their corpses to his extraordinary pet.

Just notice (not that it matters) but between 6:05 & 6:24 the spot the couple parked...the car would have been still visible. Lol anyway she said "omg is that a..." a what I wonder...did she mean a gun? Or did they know feeders existed to care for them? Loved it. Would like a part two with more insight into this. Guess it wasn't such the "perfect" spot.
