Well Done!!! This is probably one of my favorite zombie films ever...why you ask?? I love how character driven it was... You developed showed back stories and showed motivations of all these characters in mere minutes... And most importantly the zombies were like a piece of furniture on a stage in the grand scheme...like they were a Consequence. Love it! Keep making them and I'll keep watching

He seemed to have more humanity as an undead. At least his paternal instinct remained. From the coercive back story at the beginning, I was pretty much hoping he would get his chips. One wonders what horrors took place in that household before the outbreak….?

Pretty sure that was just his paternal instinct before turning completely. He knew what is he becoming and he didn't want to hurt the baby after he is going to lose the rest of his humanity. Props to authors of this short, because that was really interesting concept to work with.

Zombie films work best for me when they focus on characters and when there is still a thread of hope. This well crafted short had both. I loved the staring at the sun angle. It also let's the viewer ponder trust denial, and risk. The acting was moving conveying a sadness and a never give up spirit. The who lives a d who doesn't could have been played out different ways and that was part of the joy of watching. Was kind of mad at the female character for a while but do any of us really know how we would react in a crisis if this magnitude. Their is a feature film called Cargo which had a similar vibe to it. How about a to shout to Bella. Who's a good girl? Great use of a sewing machine. Thanks to all involved. Solid acting. You delivered a sad and satisfying Zombie tale. Peace.

I'm a little confused about the messaging. it seems like they were trying to portray the bf as abusive. but she "wanted to get some air" in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. he seemed a bit extra ( mind you, in her dream/nightmare) but her actions lead to his death. and if it wasn't for the father's love would have also been the baby's death. she also would have died if it wasn't for another man saving her putting HIS life in danger.

The boyfriend was abusive. She wanted to leave and panicked when the zombie got in - but, as abusive as the bf was, he still loved his child and knew to protect her before he fully turned. Nobody is 100 percent evil. This has nothing to do with man versus women - this is a story about humanity still being present and persevering even during a zombie apocalypse.

@@lipglossjunky73 it definitely looks like we're supposed to assume he's abusive. If that's really what's intended then no argument. But it can easily look a lot differently. Again, the most abusive looking scene was a dream/nightmare. And even then, she was trying to go outside in a zombie apocalypse.(also was she gonna leave without the baby?) Next, she was keeping a walkie talkie on her at all times? At least when she's taking care of her baby. Could be seen as obsession. Which would be a common thing in zompac movies. And he didn't do anything abusive there, just said no one is there. Even if they are it could be dangerous to make contact. Next, she could have ppd. During a zompac. That'd be a lot to deal with. Even if not, it's still a lot and this is all we see. So idk, if ya wanna show he's abusive, I'd say do something clear. Unless that's the point, but I'm assuming it's more simple like you say.

Hey guys. Love your thought on the film. Without going in to deep detail, essentially I wanted to tell a story about what people do in desperate situations, willingly or unwillingly What way do they turn? how far out of their comfort zone do they stray? And ultimately can they be accountable for their decisions and actions. TBH, I struggled getting it all in there with much a short run time. But think I kind of got there.

@@BrendanCleaves thanks for the input and hope my comment didn't seem too negative. I just wasn't sure about the narrative some people were saying that it's about escaping an abusive relationship. I can see how that'd be the obvious take, but looking harder it seemed less trustworthy. Like how it could just be a perception thing. But regardless it was apparent she felt trapped. And Doug was trapped. And their meeting is what they both needed. But hey, at least the baby lived. Could have gone way darker. Lol. Keep up the good work.

The subtle character acting is great! I love how Sam is initially so wary of Doug because she's traumatised by the abuse. And how Doug comes on so strongly because he's been so lonely, even though he actually means well. But of course the Oscar goes to Bella, the goodest of girls!

Although I have never been a zombie film fan, this one was excellent. The theme and its development were well chosen to engage the viewer in the story and the acting was superb! The actors really engaged the reader in feeling the complex emotions which their characters experience. One way and another, then, a zombie film has become by far my favourite horror film.

I happened to come across this short film when it popped up in my recommended, thought it looked interesting, and decided to give it a watch. I'm happy that I did! I didn't know anything about it before watching it other than the title so when I saw that the film involved zombies I'll be honest and say I groaned a little bit. However, I was interested enough to stick with it. What I particularly enjoyed was that the main conflict didn't stem from the danger of zombies but from Sam's abusive relationship. The way that the relationship was displayed was fantastic. It started subtly and you could physically feel the tension and discomfort in the scenes which I really commend the actors for their skill. I also really loved the twist at the end where the husband actually had just enough sense left to hide his baby to protect it from himself. That was excellent in my opinion. It gave a bit of humanity to an otherwise irredeemable character and also helped to round out the husband's character showing a glimpse into his emotions and motivations. I also just loved it because, at the point when you think that something terrible had happened to the baby, I almost didn't even question it and was pretty prepared for the ending to be bittersweet. I feel that all too often stories these days end on a more gritty and bittersweet note showing a "happy" ending tempered by loss and sacrifice. I loved that you ended the story with Sam, Doug, and the Baby relatively alright and filled with a renewed sense of hope. My one criticism would be that I felt a bit confused when the story transitioned into the flashback. It was unclear to me that that was a flashback until after the story came back to the present with Sam and Doug standing outside of Sam's house. Other than that I think that overall you did an excellent job and I really commend your effort. Well done!

I truly loved this short! How brilliant! I loved in the end, that even though they had to axe off her partner, even in his crazy state, he still had enough love somehow to lock up his baby. (not sure how he couldn't do that for his wife, but hey, i'm cool w/the baby) - And then the ending was nice...the possibilities! IMO though, if I was ever to be in a situation, not sure why you'd leave your home where you have EVERYTHING, and you can batten down the fortress...seems riskier to just walk off into the night not knowing what you are going to run into. :)

I'M LITERALLYY GOINGGG INSANEEEE. MY JAW DROPPPEDDD. When Ben got attacked by the "Primal" and was clearly bitten and/or scratched, he knew those were his last moments and he saw that Sam had left the baby and he didn't want to harm the baby so he placed the baby inside the chest to keep her safe in hopes Sam or someone else will come back and find her. This scene reminds me of the show "all of us are dead" when this teenage student had gotten pregnant and had her baby inside of a park's public bathroom during the apocalypse. Originally, she had planned to leave the child there because she didn't want it, but then as she was walking away she saw the zombies attacking people and it dawned on her and she realized that she couldn't leave the baby in that condition and in those situations. SO she gets the baby and runs while by whilst doing that she gets attacked by some zombies or harmed by a zombie as she tried to get the baby out of that situation. She then found a resturaunt and planned to hide there until she found someone or this whole thing just died down. AFter a while she realized she had gotten bitten and so she closed, locked, and barricaded all windows and doors. Shen then barricaded a door with her body by tying her wrists to the door to keep the zombies from breaking in and to keep her from attacking her baby. Luckily the baby was found and taken somewhere safe but those scenes are just so similar and i love it. This was amazing work, it was like a whole movie packed in a small suitcase. I will never forget this video or this channel. This is going in my favorite short horror films folder.

i mean, zero hate but whoever says that this is “the best zombie movie that they’ve ever seen” is saying bullshits😅. visually very good, with beautiful effects and acting, but the script is terrible. don’t misunderstand, is decent for a short youtube horror movie, but it has no sense at all. if you say that this is the best zombie movie you’ve ever seen it means that is also your first😂
