The main melody also sounds very similar to the beginning of Dusty Springfield’s “Nothing Has Been Proved”. I’d heard that today and it instantly reminded me of this theme. Wonder if Dusty was an influence. 😊
Tom Hanks’s film debut and the image of Caitlin O’Heaney covering her mouth and nose with her blouse. “He knows You’re Alone” is THE retro slasher of the pandemic. Happy 40th!!!
I remember watching this movie as a kid and all it did was make me really wanna watch Halloween again because this music ripped off John Carpenter so much. lol
*Black cats and goblins and broomsticks and ghosts, covens of witches with all of their hosts, you may think they scare me, you’re probably righ-* _Oh wait, wrong movie._ Funny because the two themes sound so... _familiar..._ It must just be a coincidence right?
I know I know....but honestly...I tend to watch He Knows Your Alone more than Halloween. I just seem to enjoy it more. Halloween just sort of felt like a Black Christmas knock off but set on a different holiday.
As a european, i can say that i know you re alone is more european that halloween.. that s why halloween is amazing for us. And halloween 1978 he know you re alone 1979-80
I'd say it's much more of a rip-off of John Carpenter's Halloween really, as is the whole movie. But funnily enough, John was in turn inspired to by Goblin's soundtrack to Profondo Rosso when he created the Halloween theme, so you're not wrong either really.
