I know it may be an instinctual thing but I would find it hard to trust a horse that kicked out at the rider in the ground. My horses have always sniffed me as if to say, “What you doing down there Mum?”
Ohhhh. There's absolutely nothing you can do if the horse trips. Even if you are in perfect balance. Been there! Horse did a complete forward somersault. Funny how time slows down as I was falling and hoping he didn't land on me as we both were flying through the air. Luckily I launched over one shoulder and he stayed straight. Hooves missed me as he scrambled up. Phew.
Unbelievably stupid and dangerous animals: 99% young ladies being hurled off and kicked too, I see. Why do they do it? And yes, it IS the horse’s fault - it’s only got one job for free board and lodging and unlimited expense.🤬
No! It's not the horses' fault in majority of cases. Bad jumping, not enough confidence, no direction, too long reins, no balance, bad distance... I've seen so much mistakes in this video. A lot of this falls could've been easily avoided if they had better riding skills. Notice how a lot of horses patiently stop when their rider falls. That's not what a dumb or dangerous animal does.
I only blame the horse at 01:20. Kicking the rider after she fell is very rude and dangerous, no matter how bad ridden it was (and it was...), a horse should never be this intolerant.
@@stellablu333 having had to endure horses around me for life, I have observed their behaviour first-hand. My father was a carter on the Wilton Estate, and he and the Head Carter, Reg Shergold, came up with, “They have the strength of an elephant, the nerves of a cat and the brains of a rabbit.” These were working horses too, not the indulgence of a (often spoiled) young lady, very whom of who actually pick up the cost. My farm vet, who was a very wise and gentle Irishman, David Kerr, gave his opinion that they are “Dangerous lame quadrupeds, in which the first sign of illness is sudden death, after £10,000 vets’ fees.” Or “box rest.” I have my views, you have yours! 😁Best T
@@stellablu333 , they are not humans. They are animals with a smaller brain to body weight than the Pygmy shrew. They aren’t “rude:” they’re dangerous and stupid. Horse-mad people always say it’s “not his fault,” regardless. It’s a way of excusing constant idiotic and dangerous behaviour that shouldn’t be excused: “all their geese are swans,” as a world-famous eventer said to me, “and none of them ever admit the true cost either financially, to the family or physically.” Exactly!
@@theesbband well, horses can be very spooky and "stupid" without empathy and strong leadership (and a bad training based on fear and submission). But if a horse trusts you, if it bonds with you, it will go through the fire for you. Literally. Don't forget they used to go to the battle fields. It can sacrifice its life for you... I stand with Ronald Duncan when he said: "Where in this wide world can man find nobility without pride, friendship without envy or beauty without vanity? Here, where grace is laced with muscle, and strength by gentleness confined. He serves without servility; he has fought without enmity. There is nothing so powerful, nothing less violent; there is nothing so quick, nothing more patient."
