Years ago as a stable girl we were told to prep the horses for the farriers. It meant to clean out the hoofs, wrap the feathers and tie up the tails if needed. I’m surprised no one did in this video, is that the standard now?
Definitely better with no sound so you don't hear the annoying metal clanking of a fence of chain the whole time. I am wondering how this horse doesn't trip with such long toes. Could have easily removed another centimeter to give the horse more comfort while standing and walking.
Excellent video as usual. Very satisfying to watch. Would it be possible for you to do a face reveal one time with you explaining how and why you are doing each step of the process please? I’m really curious to know why the hot shoes are hammered in the way that they are and how you know which part of the hoof to cut and which to leave so it doesn’t hurt the horse 🐴
A different farrier said it creates a better fit to melt(?) the hoof first. Then they have to wait for it to cool down before they nail it in, otherwise it'll burn the horses foot
