Clever boy Rocky he’s learning very quickly Holly and you’ve got him looking beautiful he’s well tucked up and shiny what a beautiful job you have done 👏👏👏👏I’m so looking forward to seeing your next vlog.tfs😎🏇😎
Cool to see him start to figure it out on his own! You’re so brave just letting go 😂 it’s also interesting to see the difference between your baby show jumpers at home and OTTB’s.
Rocky is really looking beautifully athletic compared to him when he first arrived. Jumping, some dressage does wonders. He's seems very happy with his new life. Well done you ,& Rocky. Look forward to next week. Stay safe.💙🐎😎
Thank you for another training video. Dropping the reins to take away his excuse. I love that it also forces him to find his own balance rather than hanging on the rein. I learn something every time. Go Rocky go!
Great vlog. Not to mention Holly's fantastic skills and gorgeous Rocky progressing really nicely, I was simply enjoying listening to Holly's voice and felt a bit warmer seeing the sun in Oz 🤩 pleasure x
Go Rocky! And well done you as well, letting him figure out how to control himself without making him "wrong" when he hit the pole. You can really see him working it out. And as someone who had bad experiences riding from instructors pushing me to do more than I could, I felt so happy at the bit where you talked about not pushing him beyond his level and capabilities. You're doing such a fantastic job setting him up for a happy jumping future!
Hope you are okay Holly! Haven’t seen any new content on here lately… and I miss it! But, hope you are doing well and taking care of yourself! Your needs come first!
Brilliant work, Holly. Rocky has really developed his physical and mental abilities; learning to work things out himself if he won't take your guidance. Eventually he'll clue in to listening to you more and come to success sooner. But no matter how you get him there, he looks better and better every week. So well done. Thank you for sharing. Love Rocky.
it's winter here in Michigan USA so I can NOT train my 6 yr old tb mare its too slippy and she's kinda high strung all we have is a terrible small outside arena and a large round pen, love to see his progress he was so adorable you're doing a great job training him
Dream Team! I know I said it before but you two suit each other so well! What a clever horse; he really is the whole package and you are really bringing out the best in him. If you are ever looking for discussion topics, like while filming a hack or something, I would be very interested to hear your observations on the differences between producing warmbloods versus TBs.
Doing 5/6 bounce cross poles also helps them slow down and lift my tb was terrible. He now loves doing 6 bounce x pokes to one strided oxer. He really remembers to lift. May be worth a try as you can leave him to find his legs and slow.
The hardest thing to do is to let go. Well done Holly. Try this with your transitions. If he is resisting rein pressure let it go and use a turn and your seat instead (and voice). Good luck😀
I looked at the vid you did of him when you first got him and wowza, Holly, good on ya. The change is magnificent. Always a good looking horse but he looks phenomenal now.
Have you tried a neck ring (rope?)? Maybe then you do not have to use your reins to slow down. I am right now trying that with my young horse. For sure, I do ride with bridle and have the neck ring as additional tool. Anyhow, great progress. You are on the right way.
he is so beautiful! question.. is his canter as uncomfortable to sit as it looks? and how/what can you do to make it better/more comfortable? your amazing, thankyou for the updates xx
My TB also has a terribly uncomfortable canter! I don’t think there’s much you can really do about it so I just deal with it LOL (he’s 10 now and his canter is still just as uncomfortable as it was when he was 4)
One of mine has the most horribly uncomfortable canter, the first time I rode him it made me feel sick! He’s 17 and nothing has ever changed it 😂🤦🏼♀️ I just ride in a super light seat (barely sitting it, just giving the illusion that I am)
Wait is there a reason why you aren’t wearing jump boots? No hate just like I always throw some form on tendon protection when I’m jumping. Just wondering if there’s a reason why your not wearing any?!
