Unique video footage of the race, as it was seen by jockey Katerina Hlubuckova during racing day on 5th of Octomber, which was held at the Prague race course.
If your core and legs are strong, it gives you better, much better, balance than riding long. Not scary at all, or you wouldn't be doing it. Galloped, never rode in races, but it scared me to let my stirrups down. Easy to get run off with that way.
@Julia Jankowska Will even tho there are people get away with it also the amount of horses that die in the races at least 3 horses die a Day on race tracks and then we have the horses that die during training this sport is Just horrible also i am an equestrian so dont tell me that i dont know anything i own horses
@Julia Jankowska you didnt Say i dont k ów anything but I already had this argument with other people and they said i dont know anything so I was asuming that you would do the same either Way do you have anything to fight back my facts and English is also not my native language
@@italianwaterice9594 i realized that latle ive been talking to a person in the Racing industry and they said they are only doing it for money thats why the sport is bad they dont actually care about the Animals its only money
It's a girl :'D In this language are some words separated for female and male. Like: Žokej (Jockey - Male) and Žokejka (Jockey - female) or Doktor (Male Doctor) and Doktorka (female doctor) xD simply: for female we are usually adding 'ka' :'D Czech lang is hard .-.
XXwinter woldXX mmm nope, you're incorrect. I'm a track rider, which means I work with and ride race horses. They're treated very well and are not abused at all. They don't get injected with drugs, they do drug tests at races and will be removed from the race if that's the case, and most are raced at 3+ not 2. Unless you've worked in the Industry you don't have a valid argument
@@Sapient-echos I have an ex racehorse. He is only 7 and moves and acts like the 25 year old. The amount of stress and strain they put these horses through is horrible. I know not every trainer/owner/jockey is like that, but in the racing community the amount of people willing to tear apart a horse for a win is overwhelming.
@Wes Kane I race, and some of the horse's do need to feel the sting of my whip to keep them focused or if they are misbehaving, and the whip that i use is padded.
My horse used to be a racer... now that is a jumper he likes to speed up whenever he wants, so I always end up hurting my hands (and breaking my gloves 😅) Still, I love him so much
4:04 2019: he spat and coughed People in 2019: no biggie 2020: spat and coughed People in 2020: OOOOOHHHG CORONA! Edit: Imagine standing in 2 point while going that fast oh lord I thought that as stretches where hard no thank you. Oh and imagine the instructor would say “alright now we are going to LOOOSE THE STIRRUPS” I would die...
We have jockey whips at our barn that we sometimes use on the cross country course...I've been beaten by them before by my friends and I've hit my friends with them before. It doesn't hurt. At all. My jumping crop hurts more when I tap it. The material makes a VERY loud noise and often times is hit against the boot, not the horse itself.
Abby Carvide do you even realize how sensitive horses are? Gerten (the german Word For short whips)are designed to gide a horse not whip it. A horse can feel a lot more than us humans do, not to mention that I’ve done the same with my friends and it really does hurt. One more thing that I should say is that the racing industry puts horses (and jockeys ) in an immense amount of danger. Horses break their legs so fast in these types of sports that it’s actually unbelievable. I don’t support horse racing and I hope other equestrians can too. Please watch raleighreacts Videos on this matter it’s really important.
@@Thelastchangeling Robin Dabank as Zoe The fact that you even REFERENCE crops shows that you don't know what you're talking about. Racing utilizes padded whips. If a jockey were to walk in with a bat or crop, like you or I use, they would be told to get a padded crop, or else they could not use a crop in that race. Often times, the jockey is waving the crop by their face, OR smacking their boot. If a horse has blinkers on, the jockey will smack his boot. In America, the horses are ONLY allowed to be hit on the flank or the shoulder. You can also only hit them a certain amount of times and only in the straight. I can't remember the exact amount of times, but it's not a lot. PADDED WHIPS DO NOT HURT. THEY MAKE A LOUD NOISE. Also, horses break their legs in ALL EQUESTRIAN SPORTS. The vast majority of owners and trainers care more about their horses then themselves. The horses are their INCOME, if they get banned, or if their horse becomes injured and cannot race anymore/has to be euthanized, they will have a cut off of income. WHY would they want that? Also, please put the numbers into perspective. People criticized Santa Anita a bunch last year, so let's use them. Santa Anita had around 30 breakdowns. Out of how many? Oh, over at least 1000 at the meet? Racing is one of the most popularized forms of equestrian sport, and has VERY public death records. (I can go and check them RIGHT NOW...which is something I can't say for USEF or USEA....) This is getting long, so I won't continue for much longer, but god, Raleigh? I got a good chuckle out of that one. Raleigh shares her OPINION. Everything she says about horse racing is her OPINION. That she founded on one or two BIASED articles. Sweetheart, wake up. Please actually go to a track and see all this 'mistreatment'. Thank you. 🙂
@Abby Carvide I race, and it's 11 times that im allowed to whip the horse hard. It used to be 7 times, but now the whip can only be used backhanded, and these padded whips are useless. They do sting the horse, but they don't hurt the horse as much as the old type of race whip.
@@heyitsdusk I would love to show you tons of slowmo in which you'll see that they indeed whip the horse and not their boot but i don't have any time to lose with you 😂
I remember when I rode my first race, I was amazed at how surreal it was. Very quiet other than some riders yelling at the start. We went 6f and when turning for home the roar of the crowd was great, even though I had no chance for a placing I drove a little harder from the excitement of the crowd sounding off. To the comments below; Yes, when waiting for a long time in the gate it gets a little nerve racking, especially if your horse is acting up. The stirrups being high are for a reason, it doesn't make it scary to those that ride. Being a jockey you are your own team, but the brotherhood is like nothing else.
To every one saying that racing’s cruel , dressage is showjumping is to ... Now all horses have there own breeds and personality but this horses ears were forward the hole time and looked perfectly fine , so stop saying how bad it is when horseriding just comes like that ... as long as the horse is happy I it’s fine and bit less bridles are just as bad as bitsbridles the6nall hurt the horses in one way or another 🙄 Edit:the horses ears were forward most the time x
Live your life with passion Equestrian Horses love their life, they get pet all the time, they get bathes, great feed, great fresh water very day, treats, and great enrichment, better then a standard eventer horse. They race 5-10 times a month, and the rest they get breaks, they have amazing trainers, vets, dentists, farriers, and gear.
But always remember! A lot of racehorses are mistreated and overworked, there are also many many many deaths in professional horse racing. A lot of horses collapse/ break their legs, and are put down right on the track. Most that retire are sold for meat.
This also can happen to the dear old pony club ponies and horses that arent even related to horse racing. I've seen better looked after horses in racing than I have in 'normal' homes..
Also erstens gibt es eine begrenzte Anzahl wie oft die Jockeys die Pferde “schlagen“ dürfen . Und dieses knallen entsteht in der Luft! Also du hast wirklich überhaupt keine Ahnung
Why are people so against horse racing but fine with other events such as Eventing, show jumping etc? Just as ‘bad’ in my opinion, as someone who has seen the behind the scenes of racing I think the media has massively twisted what it is really like. I don’t know 1 horse that has been drugged or sent off to slaughter.
Někdo kdo by si toho koně rád pořídil. Ale to už je jenom otázka času, ne?
It is abuse and just because it's a specific breed it doesn't meen it is bred to run that fast. They might like running, but they usually run soo fast because they are on som kinda of drug and just saying in these races about 1000 horses die in 1 year. Soooo...... yeah it is still abuse.
Not all of them abuse their horses, most of the horses enjoy racing and running. I’m not saying that some people don’t abuse their horse but I didn’t see anybody do anything to abuse their horse in this video.
Stop tryna act like an expert it’s not abusive I race my horse and they don’t smack them with the crops and stop calling them whips if there small there crops if there big there whips my horse really loves running she’s an Irish sport horse which means I got more strength speed stamina and displine than an average horse
@@angelaequestrian7465 Yeah but if you use a wip it' s abusivr you are just hurting the horse nothing else, horse racing suck for this, maybe if it whould be someone in the racing industry who whould not wip the horse or using abusive bits i think that maybe that person whould not be accepptet in some competition, honestly i disaggree with you, but if you wamt welp then continue wipping the horse karma is coming soon 😊
For all the people saying This is cruel. I don’t work with track horses but, they DO NOT get injected with drugs, they have drug tests before racing. they are not abused, and their vet has a to check their heart on a treadmill, did you think a vet could check a horses heart in a field? I didn’t think so.
Uhm, someone here hasn't done their research and listens to the babbling mouth of a crazy horse lady.... Bits aren't always bad, it depends on who's using the bit and if the bit fits the mouth of the horse and doesn't have sharp edges. Most bits are fine if used right. And hackamores/bitless bridles can hurt a horse just as much as a bit.
@@tomaszwoznicki2503 not entirely true... most people retire them when they get old and look after them. Also do you have proof that they drug their horses? I agree that alot of people send their horses to slaughter when they get old, and that they drug their horses but not everyone does that 😊
@@kinnyford7539 all my horses are ex race horses rescued from slaughter also i dont know if you belive peta or not but they have videos of people drugging their horses

I’m not all the way with racing I mean it cool and all but how they can treat their horses can irritate me. I don’t believe ALL horses r abused and sometimes they really have natural talent at it but for other I can’t say the same as they r drugged or abused to go faster. Most that don’t make it far when not fast enough r sent to auctions and u know what happens most of the time when they r :(.but some r awarded with a new job or a retirement home. I’m not ALL the way against horse racing but some of the treatments that rigging can irritate me. Plz don’t get angered at me this is just my opinion.
Fair opinion, thanks for being so open-minded about it. The way I see it, most of those horses are living better lives than me! I think the majority of them are loved and loved again. There are bad people out there, but that's any industry, really.
I feel like not all of the racing industry is bad, but most is. Wubbsy Woo- that's exactly how i feel. I also hate how some really beat their horses to make them run. I don't know, as it's so corrupted now, but i wonder if someday we can make it humane and make sure all of the horses are well taken care of... I'm just not sure. In my opinion, it doesn't matter what sport it is, there's always going to be someone that's just doing it for the money and not for the thrill or being able to work with the animals or people included in that sport.
Racing is abuse. Guys, quit saying it’s not “the horse is just stubborn” “the horse wouldn’t do it if they didn’t want to” “the horse is bread to run, they love it” no. Horses are stubborn but they are also quick learners. If a horses tries to not do something when the trainer is telling them and the trainer smacks them or does something to make them “learn their lesson” then they don’t want to get punished again so they don’t try to resist again. These horses are just babies. Their bones, especially the hawk joint isn’t fully developed and that’s why there are so many falls. They’re collapsing because their joins are literally breaking from the weight and hard pounding on the ground. If the horse doesn’t move then they’re going to get smacked with the crop (I don’t have a problem with crops if they’re used properly) but these craps are not used properly. They smack the horse harder then anyone ever should to get them to go. Horses have thin skin and more nerve endings so it’s easier to hurt them or “punish” them for something they aren’t doing. These yearlings are in pain and they do not enjoy this this. “They come from a long line of racers” just because I come from a long line of runners doesn’t mean I’m going to enjoy running. It’s like making babies who are still crawling run in a race every week. Ofcourse that’s not going to be pleasant on their ankles. Thank you for listening to my Ted talk.
So, I am American, and ye be Czech. I can't understand it, yet I like watchin' ye race yer darlin' horses. So I watch. God bless ye so ye don't get yerself or ye horse hurt!
