The Reverse Key is 4 horses with 4 horses with one Key horse. $48 for a $2 Tri. The Double stack is two horses with five horses with five horses. For $2 it cost $48 and paid $394. The Double Double is 2 horses with ALL with 2 horses.

trifecta strategy #1 you have 1-4-6-9/1-4-6-9/8. That is 4 x 3 x 1 =12 combinations x $2 = $24 bet not $48. Thank you for these videos. They are excellent ideas.

In australia we have flexi bet u can even take 1 per of a tri but i like atleast 50 per

Generally, people play combinations lose more than they can win. The games only return 80% pools money so it is a losing game on average. The more you bet, the closer you are to that negative average. Certainly, it is better than lottery which return only 50%.

Knowing how and when to bet can give you an edge over others. It is not an easy game. I try to make spot plays and bet more when I feel like I have an odds advantage. Trying to find a lower takeout helps, but you have to play to your strengths and wager on your best tracks and races. I have been betting for many years and have had some successful years, break even years, and a few down years. You have to keep you eye on the ball and play for long term profits. Love trying to solve the racing puzzles.

would it be a good move to bet all with all with all on a trifecta with 7 runners? it starts at a .50 bet with a total bet of $105 (the race is a $7,020 jackpot on a pick six )

That would not be a good bet. You would cash, but in the long run, you would tap out because the payoffs would not be high enough to offset the amount wagered. Also, playoffs are typically higher in larger fields, and the cost would keep going up for each horse you add to your tickets. A trifecta wheel can be used under the right circumstances. If you really like a non-favorite on top in a 12-horse field, and the top betting favorites are vulnerable, you could play 1/ALL/ALL. This is only a situational wager and I do not recommend playing it often, but every once in a while a race like that pops up and the trifecta plays well. Of course, tracks dropping the minimum to 50 cents can depress payouts because more people probably have winning tickets.

how many tickets did you lose before you collected those trifectas?

I have been handicapping since 1980, so I guess I have won and lost many times. I have won more money than I have lost over the years, and that is all that matters. I know how to bet, and I know when to not bet.
