He has lovely movement! I love how floaty his paces are.

River has made such a progress in a short time ❤️ The horse that I ride in my riding school didn't know how to jump at all in november (and he had never even seen a pole...) and now we jump 60cm (~1.97 ft) courses with no faults!❤️ I work with him twice a week (sometimes five times a week if I take some extra lessons/have clinics), and I feel so proud of him. Waiting to see how River will progress in the future!

He is already looking so much better in such a short amount of time. Keep up the good work!

I can relate to all this, he is literally my ottb haha! He refuses to work in an outline though, so rather than forcing something he does not enjoy, we are trying showjumping, despite eventing being at my heart. It's nice to see river making such fab progress. Can't wait to see more of you both :) x

I have a horse who used to put his head up and hollow his back but when i changed to a combination bit who puts pressure on the neck and his nose and then his mouth it changed alot for us. he uses his back and dosnt throws his head up as much anymore.just a tip from horse lover to another horse lover :) Of course there are other ways to train on it but its a nice "helper".

Your horse, River is so beautiful! Your ride so well. I have a horse too, her name is Kitkat. She is a Chesnut,Halflinger and is 8 years old. What kind of horse do you have? I have been having problems with my horse bucking tho. Have any suggestions how I can fix/help this situation?

I'm not a fan of eventing, bits, rodeo, etc. that said....i see you've done great work with this horse and you're an amazing rider. nice work kid:) I rescue a few ottb each year and restart them in ranch work

Your such a great horse riding your and great person to look up to like my horse - STAR- and we've done dressage 6 times and got a rosette each time , done show jumping 10 times and came home with a rosette 2 we are now starting eventing

Did you give him any time to 'let down' or did you hop on immediately. Always interesting to see the variety of approaches to retraining off the tracks :) I liked your quiet riding and just letting him sort himself out, you two will go far. Super approach to a stressy horse.

can i just quickly correct your statement about how he's an ottb so he doesn't understand the bridle thing ?? ottbs are completely broke horses. they understand bridles and saddles, however they are taught to go faster as the reins get tighter. their training teaches them to pull against the bit and relax upon relaxed reins. i would recommend going to a track on a training day to help you understand him better - it really helps. not trying to be mean or rude, just trying to eliminate ottb stereotypes. you believe he was abused so the reactiveness to the bridle was likely due to the abuse from the past (:

A horse at my barn had a lot of liquid in her feed so when i was watching her eat (Just to make sure she eats it all and that abby the other horse doesn't eat it lol) and all the liquid was dripping out of her mouth lol XDDDD
