Part 3 of our horse trailer camera installation video series details the installation of our cargo area/truck bed visibility camera on the rear window glass, the connection of our SYNC 3 multi-camera interface module to the vehicle’s original equipment SYNC 3 control module, as well as our final wiring and video input connections.

------------------------- Installation Steps -------------------------
Step 19
Remove the four screws that secure the high-mount brake lamp assembly to the cab of the truck and set the assembly to the side.
Step 20
Apply an adhesion promoter to the window glass underneath the high-mount brake lamp mounting location as central to the cargo/bed area as possible.
Step 21
Remove the protective backing from the adhesive side of the 250-8160 camera and firmly press the camera into place holding it steady for a few seconds to ensure full adhesion.
Step 22
Route the extension harness of the 250-8160 camera into the cab of the truck through the opening of the high-mount brake lamp to be connected to the video module at the front.
Step 23
Replace the high-mount brake lamp assembly and affix in place using the previously-removed mounting screws.
Step 24
In the cab of the truck, apply masking tape to the dashboard area around the infotainment system to prevent marring of any of the plastic panels during removal.
Step 25
If equipped, remove the cover from the center channel speaker to gain access to the upper trim panel mounting screws.
Step 26
Remove the two 7mm screws holding the upper dashboard trim panel to the dashboard.
Step 27
Gently pry up on the outer edges of the dashboard panel to remove it. Then, disconnect the harness from the center channel speaker. Set the panel safely aside.
Step 28
Remove the two mounting screws holding the center panel of the infotainment system to the dashboard.
Step 29
Gently pull the panel from the dashboard to gain access to the connectors for the A/C system, radio controls, hazard lamps, and auto start/stop (if equipped).
Step 30
Disconnect each of the connectors on the back of the center panel and set the panel safely to the side.
Step 31
To gain access to the connectors on the back of the 8" LCD screen, first remove its mounting screws and lift the screen gently away from the dashboard.
Step 32
At the back of the LCD screen, remove the the gateway connector, LVDS cables, and antenna cables.
Step 33
Connect the LVDS t-harness included with the SYNC 3 multi-camera interface system to the LVDS plugs on the SYNC module.
Step 34
Connect the gateway t-harness to the SYNC module and then to the vehicle-side connector.
Step 35
Connect the LVDS and power/ground cables to the SYNC 3 multi-camera system's module.
Step 36
Connect the 4-pin harness from the trailer video feed to the 4-pin to RCA adapter included with the 250-8149 camera.
Step 37
Connect the RCA plug from the 4-pin to RCA adapter to the RCA input of the SYNC 3 multi-camera module labeled "REAR".
Step 37
Connect the RCA plug from the cargo/bed area camera to the RCA input of the SYNC 3 multi-camera module labeled "360".
Step 39
Using a butt connector, strip the positive wire leads from the two cameras and connect them to the 12-volt power output of the SYNC 3 multi-camera module.
Step 40
Using a butt connector, strip the negative wire leads from the two cameras and connect them to the ground wire of the SYNC 3 multi-camera module.
Step 41
Apply the included double-sided tape to the SYNC 3 multi-camera system's control module and press the module into place behind the screen's mounting location.
Step 42
Connect the LVDS, antenna, and USB cables from the SYNC 3 multi-camera interface module t-harness to the SYNC 3 module.
Step 43
Tuck the harnesses from the SYNC 3 multi-camera interface system behind the dashboard, temporarily set the LCD screen in place, and power on the vehicle to check for boot-up.
