Hi John, your fast hands over the ears technique totally worked for me today with my mare! I was able to go from fast to a little slower and even back and forth between her ears without her moving her head where before she had a serious pulling back reaction. Thank you so, so much! :D I wouldn't have thought of fast hands on my own.

Head shy is not always due to fear. It can also be due to muscle pain. My new horse WAS head shy. I had the vet do a chiropractic adjustment and he stopped throwing his head. I followed it up with massage and now there is no problem at all.

I love how he says put a bridle on the head shy horse. Isn't that why people are watching the video?

i wish you would do this demo on a horse that really is head shy. i learned very little from this. this is the same as reading it in a book. all theory. i wanna see a real lab demo on a horse that pulls away.

I have a very head shy mini-mule who has apparently had his ears abused in the past. I will give John's method a try and see how he does.

Actually, if you looked at the horse in the first part of the video, he was a little bit nervous when John Lyons went to touch his face.
