He actually did have Anti air though... just not a lot of it. The phoenix (the fighter jet looking things) can shoot up. Against that many Wasps though (the little fly boys) its not nearly enough you need a large number of aerial units or AA to deal with them effectively, even a unit or two of fangs helps a lot.
@@vampuricknight1 That is more "can shoot air" than "anti-air" though. Also, the wasps were spawned with the Phoenixes as their first target. I think they shot maybe one? Personally, I would classify that as no anti-air :)
I think it’s because the game is so well balanced. I’ve not felt like anything is more or less powerful than anything else, and that lack of jank that’s inherent to most other games like this is just really refreshing.
@@yakobsoulstorm5187 Its good, fast paced strategy that focuses on positioning and countering while completely removing player skill and control to make sure the field is always level. Some people might dislike that kind of thing, but not having to worry about your opponent being a grandmaster tweaker with 160 APM, a macro kitty, or just a straight up bot or hacker so you can focus entirely on countering their build seems like a really solid design choice for the game.
@@coreylemon It doesn’t remove skill, it removes mechanical skill and emphasises strategic thinking. The flanking option is a great demonstration of this, since neither player wants a war on two fronts for themselves, but both want it for the other. It makes for a very interesting game if you know what units do what and how best to buff them.
@@yakobsoulstorm5187 You can argue that strategy is a skill, but he wasn't claiming it isn't. By 'skill' he clearly meant high APM and macro/micro skills specifically, which is a true statement. Overall, yes it is refreshing to see a game that's reasonably balanced and not plagued with RNG and exploitable jank.
I have just been so hyped for these Mechabellum Horse vids lately. These have been so fun to watch and they really showcase how cool this game actually is.
Lewis not knowing counters is hilarious. Especially him thinking Melting points wasn't a "good plan" against Tom's op Fortress... even though that is an ideal counter.
Love the first fight. Lewis LITERALLY explaining that, "You gotta counter the enemy to win". Tom LITERALLY giving Lewis the winning strategy, "flamers counter my crawlers". Lewis refusing to put down any AoE what so ever, refuses to counter Toms crawlers, loses. I wonder why xD - 17:30 oh look, countering works xD
That was such a great comeback for Lewis. The moment he unveiled the anti-air weakness in Tom's army was absolutely hilarious. I really love watching you guys play this game!
I dont know if I am more amazed by you making a horse game viable for this (even at the cost of lenght of the video), or by Lewis actually doing well, good job guys, all 3 of you!
These are great! Keep em coming! I've also been playing the butts out of this game. Wish Boba was in the office to record these! She'd make for some goofy and funny moments with games like this with Tom!
wow what a great first game for Lewis. Fast learner. I would love to see another Yogs tournament of this game now that everyone is getting a hint for the strategies
I really like using the letters to mark combat victories rather than individual round victories :D maybe it would be worth swapping from HORSE to PIG if you want fewer letters to have to go through, though?
I’ve come the realization over the years that part of the interview process for the Yogs is “When playing a tactical game and your tactics aren’t working against your opponent, do you keep doing the same thing and ignore countering them? If so you are hired!”
Really enjoying these, but you should look into using solo - testing ground so that you can do proper wheel spins and everything. You can spawn in units, set hp to infinite, change incomes, basically anything you could want to do for a proper HORSE with many wheels.
Hackers when used right can turn the tide of a battle also they have a shiled to cover tropes But just "putting them down" never really works out for them you have to have a target in mind for them Edit like in that last battle taking one of those fortress would have been good for a hack8
the fight at 23:00 was one of the best rounds i have ever seen with the absolute worst ability usage imaginable, used a buff on his opponent a chad move but not a strong one and also lazered the shit out of his own tanks while doing minimal damage to the enemy not to mention he paid for both of them lol
I couldn't help but notice, Tom, but you haven't spent your tech points. There are some really cool things you can unlock with those for your units, I recommend you take a look at those.
Lusty Argonian Maid joined your room. Lusty Argonian Maid left your toom. wat. Check the intro. I'll assume it's an expertly-placed easter egg by Tomothy himself. What a legend.
Hey Tom, I know it probably does pretty well for viewership saying “HORSE” in the title. Specially since we all love to see it. But whenever we wanted to play a quick game of H.O.R.S.E we always just played P.I.G instead.
Daily reminder that Tom is an amazing person and to thank him for all he has done/will do - Day 1285 Fantastic to see some more Mecha HORSE, or in this case HOR he he he, and with Lewis. Always love that goofball when he joins for videos :D Jesus, -7, I wonder what would have happened if there was a sliver of life left Ha ha ha XD, god that Orbital Laser doing more damage to Lewis than Tom was a classic missplay XD Jesus christ that Round 4 comback, good god Ha ha, what a fantastic episode, and really close, big surprise in the winner there
