That's a good horse. You can tell he's competitive. He dug in when the other horse headed him. Thoroughbreds have running in their blood. There's a picture of a horse named 'Please Me' crossing the finish line without his rider, George Woolf, who had fallen off and died earlier in the race. He was the jockey that rode Seabiscuit in the match race with War Admiral in 1938. Greatest jockey of his time. He died in a midweek minor race in 1946, I think it was. One of the best races I ever saw was in Raton New Mexico in late July 1983... Someone had not secured the bridle properly, and it came off less than a hundred yards out of the gate. The jockey grabbed the horse's mane, stayed on him, and won the race!!!

It looked to me like the jockey whipped the loose horse in the stretch, which would be a DQ for him; you can't touch another horse with your whip.

The 2nd place jock was hitting the riderless horse at some point. Trying to make him stop lmao. This is proof that jocks arnt needed. If anything their abusive asses are holding the horses back.
