Awwww! I'm happy for the horses going for a swim! You know, those 2 beautiful horses are reasonably lucky! Because not many horse owners really actually take their horses to swim. Very beautiful and lucky horses!
this is so great. I rescue illtreated horses in my country. And my comment goes to the ones who say this is illtreatment. Horses love water and I do have in another channel videos of my rescued horses playing in the artifical pond a built for them. They love to get into the water, play with it and swim. I even rescued a 100% blind horse that took me several months to get him into the pond and now he loves it and know where it is and goes by himself. So seeing these horses getting used to the water for the first time is very beautiful and adorable they are having lots of fun !!!!
What color is the bluish grey horse that has the line going down her/his back. It is absouluty beautiful. And I love the trust that your horses have in you while you show them that the water is safe.
Abuser some horse mite not like water and your forcing a horse to do something they don't want to do poor horse she was probably scared to death I know I would be Scared if it was my first time swimming
This isn’t abuse, they haven’t done a single thing wrong in the video. They are splashing about, they are having fun. She has to pull them gently forward to give them encouragement, she is not forcing them to go into the water. The next time she dies this she may have to do the same thing, but after a while, they will be used to the water. So don’t comment this if u don’t know a damn thing about horses, u may know the facts that’s everyone knows, for example, ‘don’t stand behind a horse’ (unless you know what you’re doing), ‘how do you measure horses?’ You may answer in hands, but how much is a hand? It’s not actually the hand as in the limb on your body. So, don’t. Comment. Dumb. Fucking. Comments..
Some of the people commenting are so dumb. The horses are clearly enjoying the water. Horses have to be guided and pushed to try new things and then they realize they like it.
***** To explain it more: The horses can't see the ground, so they have to trust the girl. If they wouldn't trust her, they woundn't go a step further. Believe me, I've tried :D
170 people disliking the video-say what?! I know from personal experience that horses love water. We'd ride out a whole group to wade in a lake, and there would always be some horse or another who laid down in the water, saddle and all, for a nice soak, with the kid freaking out, haha. What MORON would get it in their head that the girls are being mean to the horses? I don't know whether to laugh or cry. (Laugh I think.)
I know how to swim but they we're just getting the feeling of water and you were rushing it where they had a get stomach deep they might've been freaked out
Some of you people clearly do not know a THING about horses! The horses splashing means they were playing in the water. Those horses aren't yours so let the people that own them have some fun with them. Gosh

Awww - they're having a blast even though their ears and eyes express a bit ambiguity. Pinto is like "I like it - now I wanna come up - I'm annoyed - oh! This is fun - splash splash". Silver is like "Hey Paint Horse, what do we think about this? We like it? We're pretending to be a bit hard to get? Not giving in to the human too easy?" :-D
***** No thats not the case at all. Im a vet by profession and have 31 years of horse experience. (Im 31 and got my first pony as a birth gift). Horses have their ears forward, backward, to the sides etc for a number of reasons. Ears forward could easily mean anxiety or fear because then the ears will point straight forward to whatever the horse holds the intense focus on in that state. Ears forward can often be seen when the horse is holding attention on something its unsure about. Just like it turn the ears backwards to avoid loud sounds, to hear sounds coming from behind it, to concentrate, or even if its tired and are standing and taking a light nap and etc.
***** When a horse shifts attention, and move ears rapidly or continuously back and forth its often a sign of it being unsure or apprehensive or anxious. Its also often seen when schooling a young horse and when a is excited. Thats why I read the horses in this video like they were interested in whatever was going on, but as it was new and their body language with their bodies overall pulling a bit backwards and the ears going back and forth, they were also a bit nervous.
***** Well its easy to see if your horse is happy if its your own horse and you have a connection. You will just know as you (unaware of it) have learned to automatic read your horse. Its can be a calmness in the horse, a playfulness, a anxious tripping to get moving to something exciting like the pasture or a ride in nature or something, it can be verbal, it can be halfway asleep, it can be "asking" you for scratched being the ears or run around and be silly on the field etc.
***** I put down my old pony 2 years ago, when we were both 29. Her health was declining and she was starting to show arthritis pains that I couldn't really keep down with physic and meds anymore. Her last 8 years she was retired and served as a therapy pony in a children's hospice every saturday and was the grand ole feministic dictator in the field where she ruled over my frisians, my arabian and my draft horse. That is when she wasn't standing underneath the belly of the draft horse to avoid all the summer bugs who would then just bother the bigger horse and not her, while she was comfortable being swiped with the draft horse tail.
***** Thank you. But its quite okay now. It was ofcourse very hard and weird to live without her in the beginning as Ive had her all my life and never tried to be without her. And it wasnt easy being the vet who put down her own pet. She is greatly missed and was a huge part of my life all from child to adult. But she was a treasured little soul who deserved the best comfort and quality of life and thus the best goodbye when she went to horsey heaven ;-)
The way this women is pulling them by their lead ropes isn't helping them come accustomed to the water . All though she did manage to get them both in by using force they would have been more willing if she would have taken it slowly and used pressure and release.. if you access the situation through the eyes and the mind of the horses and view the situation from the horses perspective and once you achieve that the horses will be more willing to follow .
It's not ill treatment but not smart to stand in front. Remember if the horses head goes under it can end real bad. Horses are not puppy dogs many things can go wrong!
I decided to have a think about this, and i apologise for the very strong response i gave you in my first comment. I do just have a very high set of values about animals, and have recently been completely horrified by other videos on you tube, about torture of animals. When it comes to horses, an overriding question is what happens to them when they get old or cease to serve the purpose of the human. So, by comparison, they are ok in this particular video. I just believe that 'horse whispering' is more the way to go, which is about facilitating the horse to freely choose the behaviour desired by the human.
If you don't know anything about horses, why comment? Do you go around to other animal videos and scream "ABUSE!" ? Also, you could just delete your first idiotic comment, you know? Instead of writing a (long, semi-coherent) followup.
people can get so hungry that they throw up and cry like I don't understand mom's or dad like people get real it is going to get real when your child is starving 😢
You should not make an animal to something that I don't want to do you probably want to be out there and you're forcing him to do something if I was the horse I would hate you
They seem relaxed, just learning a new experience. But those girls screaming and the harnesses on horses mouths ruin the whole thing. Anyway at least the horses look good and I don't think this is about abusing animals, just using them to get likes in youtube.
That harness on the horses mouth is called a halter and the thing they're leading the horses with is called a lead rope both are completely harmless, also they're in a public lake so the halter and lead is needed just like you need a leash for a dog
Its awesome that you were able to take them to go in the water, but them splashing wasn't playing, they really never wanted to go in the water and were trying to tell you guys they didn't like it.
Probably shouldn't really believe those books as most information is inaccurate. Most are written by people who think they know horses when they really don't. I've been around horses all my life and almost all horses love water. When they put their ears forward (when they prick their ears), it can mean a lot of different things. Same with when they put their ears back.
+don1559 that is the dumbest thing Ive ever heard!!! its a public lake for one. and the its not the white people that are rich here, we are POOR!!! its the brown ones that have all the money and live in this RICH lake
Here's a thought for you! They work for those things! How many houses do you think Jay Z owns? He worked for his shit! Get off the "white people" crap. It's old!
Why? The horses are pawing playfully and cooling down. It'd be abuse to take a whip and beat them into the water. Then again, you've probably never seen a horse, and therefore can't recognize their body language. Don't throw around the word "abuse".
CraftyCreativeGirl There is all the difference in the world between this video and the happy horse in ' horse playing in a paddling pool.' If you are forcing an animal to do something, which you are doing by pulling it by its mouth, then that , in my world, is a form of animal abuse. I won't be paying your egocentric attempts to show how great you are supposed to be with your animals, any further attention.
Lady Ella-Rebecka Marlen-Summers I gotta say it, I've seen horses being rushed and pushed and bullied, but this is far from it. They have soft, wide banded halters that she tugs on to apply pressure in the direction she would like the horse to go, and you can see immediate slack in the rope the moment the horses take a step in the right direction. Pressure and release is the basis of horse training, and her little tugs are hardly abusive or painful to these large animals. I see praise when they go in the water, they splash playfully and walk in the shallow part without any hesitation. Once in the deep water they are relaxed and curious. Zero abuse.
Lady Ella-Rebecka Marlen-Summers Clearly you don't know anything about horses. If they didn't like it and felt as if they were being forced, they wouldn't have gone, they would of have stayed at their place and not trust the lady. Go educate yourself.
