Horses boarding for their winter home. Handlers said most go to Newberry or Pickford area in the UP. Barns are heated. Some horses will go to lower Michigan. The handlers also told us the horses go onto the Arnold ferry very well, but are not as anxious to get back on in spring. Nor do they step off the ferry well in spring. Maybe they sense the workload is starting.
