I love this lake. Just caught a six pound cutthroat there today. Kind of near where you caught this big boy. I didn't realize there were cutthroat in Horseshoe. Nice catch!
Happy Father's Day! My father is from Mcnary he has told me about the huge fish in blue lake when he was a kid. Maybe you could check it out sometime? It's behind Mcnary by a old fish hatchery. He said his neighbor caught a 32 inch brown and it was one of the smaller ones! My father said the lake is crystal clear and you could see the fish!
@@eliasleslie75 yep it's by fish hatchery in McNary but have to walk up that way it's a little pond that game and fish don't use so they put fish in there but lots of rattlesnake walking that way too
you are an angler in the best sense of the word, do some hopper & simulator vids Thank You get up on the Green, you enjoy remote fishing and not that far away.
Any tips? Just went up there 2 weeks ago with no luck on the lures/bait. Don't want to deep lure/troll as bringing up a boat is a real pain, but that's the only way I've had good luck at that lake
I also fished horseshoe mid august. There was an alge bloom while I was there but it didn't seem to effect the fishing. I didn't catch anything big but I caught a bunch of rainbows. I was fishing the south east side of the lake. Small white bugger patterns worked best for me. I also caught fish fishing nymphs static with the washing line method. Try fishing the east side of the lake. All the fish I caught were higher up in the water column.
I've been doing pretty well at lower lake mary in flagstaff, prince nymphing and midges, caught 3 18 inch and 1 19 inch rainbow along with 20 other 10 to 12inch bows in the early a.m.
Is there other rivers and streams around that area that are good fishing to? Just wondering man sorry for all the questions. I love fishing in some of the Tribal areas!
82rocksolid yeah they're a few small streams and rivers around the reservation. I have a few videos up from 3 different rivers on the reservation. There is a good river right below horseshoe lake that is full of fish.
Thanks brother! Might have to go down there someday! Think its any good in the winter time? I live in Bayfield Co. so I'm always looking for good places and I have family in the White Mountains AZ.
