I've been in RC for 30 years and have 18 Redcats. I need a new RC like I need a hole in the head. But I was so impressed with this car, I bought myself a Christmas present. The problem with my 18 Redcats is they're all fully custom and date back to a pair of Tremors. (pre-Volcano16) And I hate to run any of them. I have 5 car bodies that are 80 dollars a piece. Even my bashers are pristine, like new condition. I need a 10th scale I can bash and not worry about, and I don't want a new Volcano. That design dates back at least 8 years and you have to force 3s on it. And on 3s the stock Volcano can, and will break into pieces. I love the aluminum steering caps on this Hosim. Very nice touch I've not seen anywhere, even Traxxas. And it looks very well built and is already updated to metal. Redcat metals wear out and have very thin axle shafts. My big metal Volcano on 3s routinely snaps these in half, even the pins shear on the heavy duty ones. This Hosim also has the new evaporative metal gear sets; very tough to beat.
So did you pickup an X07? Were you happy with it?i know its smaller than a normal 10th scale and it used to have steering and diff issues...Any issues with yours...i actually ordered one yesterday and wondering if it will hold up..thanks for sharing your opinion...😊
@@roadstar499 Yes I did. Sorry, I guess I should've come back, I never thought of it. It's great and exactly what I wanted. The only problem is, it's really good looking and a lot nicer than I expected. I wanted a kick around car and for the price, it is that, but it's nicer than that. You're going to really like it. I just wish it wasn't as nice as it is. Put it that way. It has a top shelf suspension. I haven't broke it yet and I run it on 11.1. But it's too nice to really beat on. I don't beat anything I own except very few trucks that I've supercharged. That's because they're all really nice. I really like all the metal, even the steering rack. Not great metal, but metal just the same. One of the complaints is the servo arm. I think mine might be glued on because not only doesn't it loosen up, you can't take it off. You can't even unscrew it. I believe they've gone to metal on those as well. You can tell me. Yeah, the truck is a little smaller than a Redcat but most everything is. Redcat is a true scaler and no one else is. Even Traxxas is small. If I ever buy another one, it'll probably be the new Hosin 1/8th scale. It's more money but still not terrible, and it'll still be a little small. And Redcats, after you add in the batteries are very expensive. They have a new 10th scale Jeep crawler with a very simple cheap brushed motor and they want 250 dollars for it without a battery. That's crazy. And if you're going to buy a Redcat battery, you might as well buy a Venom hard body and get it over with. I think the Venom might even be cheaper now.
@@roadstar499 And yes, my shocks are oil filled despite what this reviewer says. It steers like a monster truck however and could use, and I added an aftermarket gyro. All my fast cars have gyro's.

@@roadstar499 Well it depends how many other interests you have and that's one of my problems. I don't know your age, or anything about you, but it sounds like you have at least a few. Am I right? My passion is I'm a car guy who loves to drive, not just RC cars, I have three all custom real cars and they take most of my time. A 2018 supercharged Dodge Charger with 600 hp, a 2011 Jeep Liberty all custom Woody, all the way down to the woodgrain sides and a surf board on top. And a 2002 Chrysler Prowler roadster sports car. They're all show pieces, just like my RC cars, and I drive them all. I don't have to tell you these cost real money. Not just to buy, but to maintain and customize. Throw in a Can Am Spider R/T Limited trike and the time it takes to drive them all. And I do. And if you include my wife's Jeep Renegade, my indoor parking is all full up, and they take almost all my time. Retirement is a wonderful thing for me, and God has been very good to me. Much better than I deserve, and he stopped me at three super nice cars. My Redcats sit because they're all hand made custom units with countless hours invested in building them, and I don't want to break them and have to take the TIME to fix them. It's as simple as that. Fixing them is no longer half the fun. And my days of arguing speed theory about RC cars with ignorant people is over. I have a sub-fleet of just cars alone, and all them are all metal scratch built and have custom painted 80 dollar bodies on them. And they all flirt with 100mph. Gyro or not, these things need a LOT of room, and we don't have any bicycle racing tracks around here to take them to. Do you know what happens to an RC car when it direct hits a telephone pole at 80mph? I do, and it doesn't hurt the telephone pole, I can assure you. The car goes home in a bag. And because of things like that, they could easily take all my time, and it's very stressful. I have a Redcat Blackout Suburban which is the one I'll grab if I get the itch. Because it's all custom, runs on a 150 amp motor, will go 80 mph and I've never broken it. I've gone through 5 bodies, but it's never broke. Which is amazing. None of the drive train is original but the body and suspension is. Now, this X07 is that go to truck. I'm even running it back on it's original 7.4 batteries now because the 11.1 is unnecessary. It has so much torque with it's factory setup, it'll slam a wheelie against the wheelie bar hard, from a standstill on grass. Do you know what it took to get my all metal Volcano to do that? Try 11.1, 120amp ESC, and a 4900kv 4-pole racing motor. This one does it with a 45amp ESC and an undersized motor. That is very impressive and that was the point of buying this truck, to leave it alone and just have fun with it. And it is really nice. I was sick when it hit that concrete wall and got lucky. It's one of the smoothest RC's I have. And out of the box. All pre-greased and locktited. Like I said, very impressive, and I just bought the new Vortan X25 1/8th scale and it comes with 11.1 and is super heavy duty. Hopefully that'll be the last RC I ever buy. But I keep saying that. LOL They offered it to me for such a ridiculous price that I couldn't turn it down. (100 dollars off) And this X07 has turned me into a Hosim fan boy. Really, me. And I'll probably shelf my X07 already, or more likely give it to my 6 year old grandson. His passion is cars and trucks. He could live here. After a couple toy RC cars, today I have him on a Redcat Volcano 16 and he'll be ready for the X07 very soon. AT 6! And that doesn't endanger any of my fleet. I bought the Volcano 16 for him and it's stock with upgraded shocks. The first thing he did was turn it all the way up. And my RC count is up to 23 when the new one shows up. It already has a 3 wire servo and is really easy to hook up. You'll be glad you did.
If you’re talking about the screw that goes into the white servo horn then mine did the same thing where it came loose and wouldn’t steer anymore. I took the screw out and added some two part epoxy to the screw and put it back in place and she ain’t going anywhere now. Drives perfectly. You can also use loctite.
I've been using it for about 1.5 weeks now VERY regularly with no issues. It's powerful, so you do have to take care like any RC not to abuse it, but I haven't had one issue
@@avrosreviews5768 Yes, I have the two batteries hooked in parallel using the supplied adapter and get about an hour out of them. Much longer than you need. I bought more adapters from Amazon and double up almost all my little trucks now.
I got one ans the rc is so hard to control unless I turn down the steering sensitivity. I don't know if I want a 3s battery with it unless I got excellent control
@Avros Reviews I know just don't buy the Chinese brand I don't know if there are better ones out there but for the price that I kept fixing it i could've got a way better brand I spent about 200$in 4 months in spare parts to fix it
