…...Day One 11.48 June 06 2000
Myself and my Ex-wife, I’ll call her Alexis for the sake of of the story for now other than the real one, so Alexis and myself had left our jobs sold everything we could sell and were staying at my in-laws waiting on that moment where we could assemble what cash we had pick up our passports and begin our new life over in the UK we had been married for six months so were super excited to get on with things and forge on.
The day arrived, it was a friday, we had got up knowing we could go pick our passports up at the British Embassy in Pretoria, Alexis’s mom, who was an angel by the way had given us I think it was a R100 to go have breakfast before we go and pick the passports.
At breakfast we had phoned Grant and his wife Debbie to arrange a braai for that afternoon, okay so now we have set in motion the whole saga that lay out before us that would occur from the time of that call.
We went to the Embassy and we were at this moment still giddy in love from just being married and believe me I was happy, I knew to my core I was happy and it showed….
