So I know it has been a bit, I've been a silent lurker for a while. Just wanted to say how excited I am to see you grow some of these. Also curious to see how your onion growing adventure turns out.
@@thegardnersgarden aww, well I’m glad you commented! I know you’re in a season of overwhelm, so I appreciate you 💕. I’m excited about the onions, too! You inspired me!
You should really like the Sungold cherry tomato. It is one of the first to produce and is usually considered the best tasting of the sweet tomatoes, my wife's favorite. Red snapper is a good producer with very good disease resistance. Will be growing both of those next year.
Great haul! Can you tell me more about the seed swap? I need to look into something like that because I have seeds that I don’t really want anymore and would love to see what’s out there
@@opraha1113 sure! This one is for a group on FB related to another YT channel I watch. The group does a swap 2x per year and I usually end up with 15-20 new varieties to try.
Getting a big box of seeds is the best thing in the world lol. 😁😁🌽🥕🫑🌶 The white onions from Hoss have me interested, I had past bad luck with onions and potatoes here. Think I maybe want to try them again soon. The squash variety you picked is really nice, I have a Guatemalan vine kind I'm trying this coming year that young is like bush squash, but if you let it mature it's like a pumpkin. Trying the new ones is always fun. Your current pepper plants, do you plan to dig any of them up and/or winter them to grow them again next year? My chili plants did ok this year but now they're turning into shrubs, especially after being attacked and stripped into sticks. They came back as little shrubs with 20+ tops and 4-5 new branches. I'm going to dig them up, cut them back, and replant next season to skip the beginning part. I have a bell that's about 4 foot tall and I'm going to save that one too.
@@CopperLining that squash variety sounds awesome! I’m not going to over-winter peppers. I don’t really have the space to do so, and I haven’t had great luck with it in the past. Maybe one day when I have my farm I’ll give it a go again.
