Yea these bad lip reading folks must have a ton of musical talent, because they always write cool ass songs. The funny things is that they just throw funny lyrics over them and call it a day
Same here. I just went on a multiple song run after YEARS. They just suddenly popped into my head tonight and I decided to do a re-watch. Still know them. Bushes of love is what popped into my mind today randomly and so I had to revisit it. Then I just decided to rewatch all of the ones I use to listen to as a kid
One month later I'm having exactly the same experience because a friend of mine mentioned padawan and chicken in one sentence. x')@@thedoctorreileymtd4022
No cap... even went back to Charlie Sheen " Winning"... I proffer the suggestion.. Maybe those of us who actually take notice of the lyrics are born of an earlier generation. Star Wars is literally a timeless medium. I'm alluding to being born of a different generation from whence lyrics actually meant something. Maybe it is all subjective and relevant to the individual, I remember a time circa 1988-1998 when I was an Australian teenager and was literally blessed to have been privvy to the big 3. #1 Metal... Sepultura, Machine Head etc etc #2 Seattle Grunge... Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam etc etc.. and fkk Nirvana. 😉 #3 Rap... NWA, Ice-T, Public Enemy etc etc..and that white boy from Detroit was Shady asf. To be blunt, access to this music in my formulative years gave me the tools to appreciate the previous generations music. Paul Simon once sang about every generation creating their own heroes in the " pop charts". The Beatles , Rodriguez, Bob Dylan etc etc... wordsmiths with lyrics that told a story. I hope the meaning of what I am trying to convey resonates with at least 1 person.. Thankyou for taking the time to read this Tolstoy novel 😉
The fact that they synced the "zappy sound" synthesizer descending scale in the music to the AT-AT shooting during that part makes it all the better, too. The synth sound there totally fits in that genre of music, AND it matches the video. Brilliance.
It took a few listens to realise that the "Tell your momma not to burn my shoes" bit is also a subtle dis, implying that he's been having an affair with Luke's mom.
That really is a brilliant sequence, and i can explain exactly WHY it's so brilliant: First, the comedic timing. Wedge (the character "avoiding death") responds to Luke's question before Luke even finishes saying it. Luke is literally still on the "ng" sound when Wedge starts to answer. Why is this brilliant comedy? Because they're literally in a giant battle, and Luke's question "hey guys, what you doing?" is prima facie ridiculous. They're trying not to get killed. What ELSE would they be doing in a battle? The camera cut to Wedge's absolutely deadpan, totally serious facial expression just underlines how asinine the question was. And then the Luke character has to ask him to repeat what he just said, which again enhances the joke by showing Luke is so completely detached from reality that he either didn't hear or didn't understand the reply, or understand that his question was stupid in the first place. It also works as an in-joke reference. The Wedge Antilles character is the ONLY character in Star Wars that is present at (and survives) all three major "air" battles: he is at the Battle of Yavin against the first Death Star, he is at the Battle of Hoth (and is one of only two characters to actually destroy an AT-AT, and the only character to do so from an airspeeder), and he is the pilot of one of only two ships that survive entering the second Death Star- and fires what appears to be the fatal shot at the DS2 power core. No other characters, to include the main characters of the original trilogy, survive every major air/space battle of the original trilogy: Luke, Han, and Chewbacca are present at the First Death Star, but Han and Chewie don't participate in the battle at Hoth, and at Endor are part of the ground battle, so they don't participate in the attack on the second Death Star. Luke is at the first Death Star and Hoth, but like Han, volunteers for the ground battle at Endor and is captured/ surrenders to the Empire, and like Luke, doesn't take part in the attack on the second Death Star. But the Wedge Antilles character is a minor character in the movies; he barely has any lines at all. He's best known for... well, for surviving all three movies. So, what's his main role in the films? Literally "avoiding death". That's Wedge's thing, avoiding death.
That other guy had the most ambition. He wanted to see a tree. He wanted to make it all the way to the end of the next movie. Just imagine an alternate timeline where he survives, and we see him throughout the rest of Empire and all of Return.
This song is so dang sweet. I'm gonna be singing "you are like cinnamon" around the house for weeks now. First it was "seagulls, stop it now", then "my, stick is better than bacon", now this.
@@ydoomenaud this iteration of Luke is like Ethan Hunt, in that he’s so confident that his plan is gonna work, he straight up tells the bad guy what’s about to befall him.
"Don't worry bout it Darious, cus i'm a mile high and i'm the scariest." "Shame he won't be at the barbecue, then again, i guess he is a barbecue." General Veers, yes.
I just found out one of the games I play has an achievement called "I'm a mile high and I'm the scariest" for beating another character while playing as Darius.
Fun fact, when the words "hostiles on the hill" fade away, the letters that take the longest to fade are H-O-T-H. This scene takes place on the planet Hoth.
It’s been almost 3 years and I just now realized HOTH is an acronym for Hostiles on the Hill. Even though the words fade away to just the first letters at 0:49.
I am ready to buy your CD. You guys are really actually musically talented, aside from being hysterical. It's weird to want to laugh and dance at the exact same time. But these are so good. My favorite is "That's Not A Moon" and this as a close second.
I'm with you on the first, it's a toss up between whether I like this or Bushes of Love second best. The fact that Moon has Cushing just sells it for me.
This is so talented. Not only is the music, rapping, lyrics good but it is also crafted to fit with the dubbing from the movie, I'm so impressed with this.l
@Neutron Alchemist In case Star Wars did not have Space Wizards. Wedge would be the most feared Pilot. I like his whole story and how good he is as a supporting character.
Lyric: "It's not about what you want..." My subconscious mind: "... it's about what you need." Lyric: "... it's about where you are." My subconscious mind: *explodes* It's true. Like sometimes when you're in a really tight place and you don't believe in yourself, all you have to do is be in the moment and let it guide you, aka. "trust the Force"... so powerful.
Id like to petition the world to make this video cannon in the Star Wars universe. I can’t live without thinking this conversation really takes place during empire strikes back
literally everything with Julian Glover in this is brilliant. The darius bit, the "I think you trippin dawg," and that freeze frame/beat drop where it frames his face @1:54 XDXDXDXDXD this is god tier awesome
Luke's spitting straight facts. "It's not about what they want, you just gotta walk your walk." "It's not about what you wear, it's all about were you are." Lol the lyrics can get kinda deep if you listen hard enough
@BattleAngelFan the fuck? luke is radiating self-confidence, those lines emphasize that you've gotta be who you are and not follow expectations that are not your own, which is the basis of healthy confidence. just cause it's simple & obvious doesn't mean it doesn't touch something important.
@BattleAngelFan "It's not about what they want, you've just gotta walk your walk" refers to being true to yourself despite social pressure, come on, it's _right there,_ how did you not pick that up?
"Shame he wont be at the barbecue But then I guess he is a barbecue Technically my lies are probably true" **HEY** That hey makes the whole song perfect.
