My issue with renting a server is that there's no protection for the consumer and you're basically buying it to use your own ram space

If one were to rent a server, does that alone offer you admin controls? My goal is to run my own ark without running the risks of the map resetting. I want It recognized as an official or high player capacity server as well. What are your thoughts?

The barrier on Xbox comes in handy when stealing eggs from wyverns my fri d was the host and I would grab the eggs while at the end of the barrier and then he would fly away on a Dino and I would get dragged and wouldn’t get killed by the wyverns

I'm sorry but that is just stupid. You have to get another console to host your server, but can't use the same one to play on your own server like really?

So In Conan Exiles I can have my own server with whatever settings I want and I can have a bunch of friends with me, tether is there but it can be ignored. Butttt, In Ark I can have my own custom server, but I can’t play with my friends. Wtf?

How do you get back into a non dedicated session without losing any of the saved progress if you’re the host?

Just want to play with my friends on a offline server cause we Dont have a lot of time and i know on online you have to come back in a time limit or your stuff wil be removed

Just calm down my man was just explaining the best posible way to get your console server set you can set it up however you like but at the end of the day he did provide nice info.

how come every time i make a "host non-dedicated server" and play with friends on it then leave and i try and join back, whenever i'm in i cant add friends to it?

To play with friends just host a non dedicated and invite them, one problem I had is if the game didn't load right from the beginning I couldn't invite anyone, you have to put in a different game then put in ark so it shows the wildcard screen and whatnot

So if I host non dedicated server, can I still play on the same console and with my friends

I played Ps4 and Steam since beta ad early access and I played mobile recently and this helped me get back into steam since its way different thx.

Doesn't understand the video at all. Shows nothing (just the general creation site) and no explanation how you invite a friend to a server. It's a shame because now a lot for free players need the help

Guys just for explaining. You have to have multiple consoles because it’s the only way around a kid going into a public server just spawning whatever he wants using creative and just keeping the other guys from playing the game on that server. Think about it. It works with a pc and Xbox. I run fine

So im having problems with starting the game itself. I play on the steam version and when ever i try to host, join a server or even try to play single player i get an “version 300,7 error” and my game just crashes. Any tips on how to fix that?

Honestly, Just find a dead unofficial pc server. That's how me and my friends go. Although, playing with randos is kinda how the game was meant to be. Its a part of the game to raid and get raided. I understand not everyone enjoys that, so just find a dead server.

im on pc using the game pass version, i run a non dedicated server and my friend on xbox cant join, i also cant join his non dedicated server either, we have tried everything- updating games, restarting pc and console, any suggestions

When you make a dedicated server, do you have to have the other console on all the time, or can you make it, turn the other console off, delete ark from the inventory and play on your other console?

sad to see this game go to waste bc of lazy devs. i just want to play with my friends, but public servers are over populated (or overrun with pillars) so i can’t even build a base & there’s literally not a way to play on my own map without buying another xbox and another game disc. deal breaker.

Tethering accually stopped me from enjoying Conan Exiles and why i quit, even tho i loved it. Im trying to find away around this without buying a 2nd ps4 for Ark. Ark is very similar to Conan but is definitely 100% better, theres so many more npcs were in Conan you find a creature every 20 miles LoL

I’m playing a non dedicated session with my son and we were on a Tapejara when I got in the volcano near the Tek Cave he just died , all his stuff including his cryopods with all his Dino’s are just gone ! If we can’t do the Tek Cave together then what’s the point !?

I have two ps4’s and I’m running a dedicated sever on one and can’t find it when I search it up but and when I try to inv my friends in the ps4 with the dedicated sever it says cannot invite players because the game session has ended

How can I play on the server when the host is offline? Or how do you host that type of session to where if you (the host) is offline then your tribe can play?

I made a non dedicated server. My friend tried to join but he didn't see the server. I started the server without mods also didn't see the server. And then he tried hosting but couldn't see it as well. Help me if you can.

I would play on a PVE server but people continue to build walls around my home im building and I can't get out. Happened on many different servers.

Mabe its how expensive computer hardware is idk, but most people nowadays around where i live cant even afford a better PC than even the specs of a ps4 Pro, 8 core cpu, M.board, psu, hdd, 8gb ram (aprox 4 system memory & 4 gpu), case, BR drive, (controller counts) this would average a $1200 or more PC. 15-20 years ago i knew lots of people with gaming PCs, but anymore i dont know anyone that has invested even close to $1k into a computer, and mabe afew that even have a PC and i have lived around this area since the early 1980s. Everyone buys consols anymore because how much it takes to build a decent gaming PC. Even myself i have a 8 core 3.6ghz cpu, 24gbs ddr4 memory, 890 watt psu, msi MB, then theres case and BR burner wii fii usb stick extra cooling fans, but my GtX 1060 Ti was over $500. My system cost about $1600 and it barely can achieve decent 2160p gaming in high settings at about 50 fps, on Ultra it drops alot at about 30 fps, but high still looks very good. Ontario computer prices are so expensive people are resorting to gaming on consols more than PCs,its a shame. Consols are alot closer to PC power than ever before though compared to how ahead PCs were in the late 90s to early 2000s , in 2014 a ps4 specs were very good, and with the Pro in 2016 it was way beyond a budget computer. Budget Pc in Florda would be a GtX 1050 but in Ontario it would have been a gtx 750. In early 2020 our budget gpus are gddr5 Gt 1030s or possibly a non ti 1050, gtx 1070s are $1000 Gpus and GtX 1080s are $1200 that alot of money, remember our Taxes are insain. We get all the top end gpu available anywhere else there just crazy expensive. Next gen with Ps5 lol a PC with those specs would be $2000 lol, and thats why no one games on PCs and consols are the top seller for gaming anymore. I play my Ps4 Pro more than my PC also after being a hardcore PC gamer 20 years.
