But you know, just because someone is away (in this case passed away) it doesn't mean their gone. Your brother is watching over you from an indescribably wonderful place right now, and the love you guys have for each other will keep you forever connected to one another 😊😇. I’m a little young to have listened to Owl City during his peak but during the pandemic all I did was play Minecraft while listening to Owl City, all his songs are great and give me nostalgia. I’m crying right now as I sit in bed. Thanks for this music Adam.
This songs always brings me back home, my mom always listen to owl city when I was young. Having the privilege to listen to this makes me so happy, It's like I'm back from being a child again with my mom beside me. 🌸
I thought music in 2008-2010 was pretty good and that it was heading in an 80s retro direction. I really wish more people knew Owl City's music, "Fireflies" is the only one that really crossed over (and that's one of his weaker ones imo), sucks that people don't seem to like indie music that much anymore.
I guess its like a really pop indie lol, but I mean its very light and 80s sounding. I hope something like this can get popular again and not just EDM and boybands like now.

+ThatFuckinGame It depends what genre of EDM really. The bigger your range of liked genres the better; If you have a weird taste in music; that's good. I love Owl City, but my favourite album of all time, drawing with ocean eyes, is Pendulum - Hold Your Colour. Completely different, but that's good.

I for one think that Adam continues to create emotive and beautiful music and I think the new album is a prime example of that. Speed of Love and I'm Coming After You have the same wit and charm as his earlier titles and Dreams and Disasters and Embers have a kind of motivational spirit similar to Rainbow Veins and On the Wing. Silhouette is absolutely wonderful and is probably the most meaningful Owl City song to date. A couple songs might be more mainstream but all have imagination.
Yo I remember watching this back when I was 9 years old. I'd long forgotten about the song and the video but the lyrics "cold hot air balloon" randomly flashed through my mind and I just typed that into the search bar, found this again and had an instant nostalgia trip. So... Thanks for that.

I agree partially with both arguments. I think what made Owl City special was his uniqueness, his difference from normal pop. He had his own style. That is being diminished in his new album, but not extinguished.
I've listened to this melody many times and its special, unlike the many you hear now. For those who don't understand, this song tells the story of a childhood adventure with that one or few truly good friend(s). You could say this is like an ideal childhood dream, where you have a memorable moment that you will never ever forget. This I call a rare childhood anthem.
I discovered this song over a year ago, and I have yet to find a situation when this song doesn't cheer me up. This is definitely my favourite song to date.
