Thank you so much for this video! I ordered the pro artist gold one and just got it today. It works great! I always had a love/hate relationship with hd fibers (more hate than love) but this tool is a complete game changer!
Denise I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the time, patience, compassion and wisdom you share with all of us hungry to learn more and more. I have 3 wigs, 2 HD Jon Renau wigs and one synthetic. I have only been brave enough to wear one on very rare occasion because I am stillnot comfortable nor do I feel I am making them look like me. Sure wish you were my neighbor 😊😊. Watching your tutorials equip me with knowledge, confidence & courage to try harder. Thank you soso much Denise! Much ❤.
Hi Denise, I'm still pondering on the real deal lol...but I just wanted to say you are one of the sweetest people on RU-vid! I love your personality and I sure hope you are feeling better! Thanks for all you do it's appreciated 🙏💙🙏
Thank you so much ❤ I am going thru chemo and lost all my hair and have wigs now but didn't like how they were so puffy and couldn't style them. Just ordered multiple head hot air brush and can't wait to have fun styling. When you mentioned how to hold it after on cool setting really helps me understand how heat friendly and synthetic works different than natural. I can also use when my hair grows back bonus 😊👍😘🥰
I love, love, love this brush! It’s never unplugged. I have strangely found my best style by buying long wigs with “bangs”, which I sweep back with the hot brush. It comes out great, every time!
Perfect timing for this video, I've been looking at hot-air brushes but needed a little help. So thanks so much for this. Oh and you look great with bangs.
Hello Denise! I have a short synthetic wig and I plan to use a hot hair brush to make little curls on some longer hair and also the bangs. I think that I should get the smaller one. Thank you for your video! ;-) Dominique
Thanks for this video!! Definately helpful as there are so many different heating tools as well as different fibers that allow ane require different heating temps! Side note...this is my favorite wig on you!!!looks amazing!
I just bought a wig that I love (Toni Brattin Fashion Flair), with lots of flipped up layers that I want to train inward instead, but I didn’t know if I should use my variable heat curling iron, or my clothing steamer. Lo and behold, thanks to you Denise, now I know how to use another tool in my arsenal. I’ve been wearing wigs off and on for quite a while, and my hot air brush never dawned on me. Thanks!
Just make sure it is a LOW HEAT one if that isn't heat friendly.... if it is then you can use higher heat (and probably will need to to get it to coorperate). GOOD LUCK!
@@heywigsister yup! All of Toni Brattin’s wigs are heat friendly, low density, and either very little or no permatease. I just love them. And inexpensive enough that I don’t mind paying U.S. funds (Canadian here).
Ty for this video. I have the same wig and agree with the pre style flips. I hate it. I got my dryer brush in a Revlon, and I'm going to see what I can do with her. Yours turned out great. I hope mine does as well.
Thank you, Denise! Just today I tried wearing my Untold Story again, still frustrated by the flippies at the bottom. So, seeing how you achieved a straighter style gives me such hope! I'll be getting the larger Hot Tools, the one I have is too small to use for straightening.
Hi Denise,I have two Ellen Wille Hi heat wigs and looking for a hot air brush.I am in UK and all the stylers have boar bristles. My worry is that it might damage the fibres. Can you advise me. Lorna.
wow...im sooooooooo happy i just viewed this video....Im in need of a few questions.....for my bangs....I did not know with my belle tress wigs i could even use my hot tools round brush dryer....with the metal....I have the exact one i use to use on my BIO hair....i have no hair now....sooooooo....im a bang wearer........My plastic hot hair brushes....seem not hot enough to blow dry the bangs....across my forhead....kind of rounded......so........with the metal brush u used first....do i spray a mist of water first ????? then use the barrel (metal)......thats my first question.....MY 2nd question......my belle tress wigs wavey....are way tooooo wirey...and the hot tools plastic...even misted is not refreshing them very good.....what should i use on my waveys...to make them feel better...thank you...I hope i hear from you....i want to do my bangs....right away....with the metal dryer i have here....thank you denise!!
This is great info. Thank you so much for always looking out for your sisters. Do you have a video on how to care for curly/wavy regular synthetic wigs? All mine get so tangly/crunchy no matter what I do. I do not like it when they feel like doll hair.
That one is TressAllure Clarissa in Mocha Gold- here is the review I did of it before I cut in the bangs: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FXhIBKRjjdM.html
Hi Denise, Do you use the plastic hot air brush on non heat friendly synthetics as well as the heat friendly? Also, this first wig you had on and the color is beautiful on you!
I do think a hair dryer can work as well! Especially if you are just trying to tame a little cold crimping..... just keep it on low heat and limit the time it is blowing on any one section...
I am so grateful for your videos. I have a couple of wigs but mostly wear toppers and I am guessing that I can use your tricks for them as well. I always feel like people know that I have them on so I am really self conscious but thanks to you, tomorrow I am taking all of my toppers to a hair stylist to customize them. I am going to order one of the air dry brushes too. I do have a question. At my daughter's wedding last year, I had a blonde wig on and one of her friends came up to me and said that I looked like I was wearing a doll wig because it was so shiny. I was horrified. Is there a way to make it look less "doll like"?
I've been feeling frustrated. Wearing wigs for 10 years at least with my thinning hair. Last wig I ordered on line was by Belle tress. The pictures and videos looked sooo great BUT the front lace feels like wire against my forehead. I don't want to wear hair grippers and caps underneath! These expensive wigs should be comfortable on there own especially in the heat of summer! I'm considering toppers ,I'm just not sure anymore. I'm tired of opening a box excited only to wonder if it's even the same wig sometimes! 😩 I've been wearing a ball cap now till I figure what to do next. Unfortunately there only 3 wig boutiques here and too expensive for synthetic hair Good luck to you with your hair toppers. ❤
Good info. What was the second wig & color, that you cut bangs into? super cute. I am starting to buy heat friendly. I probably will need the bigger brush.
The second wig (with bangs) is TressAllure Clarissa in Mocha Gold- I cut bangs into this one, it does not come with bangs. Here is my review on this style: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FXhIBKRjjdM.html
Does anyone know when you use the style it spray? I thought maybe spray hair with style it before using a hot airbrush, but now after watching this video I think not. So when?
Do you have a video that shows how to relax machine teasing or permatease? I have a top piece that has really obvious machine teasing and it's otherwise a great match to my own hair. I also have a wig or two that have what seems like excessive crimping at the base near the traditional cap. Thank you.
Hi Denise, thanks for all your excellent videos, I love your channel. Do you know if I could use a hot brush where the barrel heats up rather than having hot air blow out. I'm finding it a bit of a pain in the uk to find a decent hot air brush (it's probably because I'm clueless as my hair has been very very short since my 20's and I'm now 60) x
As long as the wig is heat friendly you could... but I don't find that they work very well to rehab the ends of a heat friendly synthetic. I would rather recommend a metal barrel round brush and a hair dryer than one of those.
For non heat-friendly I use a clothing steamer... and to add more curl you can use velcro rollers, just make sure to let them cool fully so the curl will set. For heat friendly you can use any heat tool that has a temperature adjuster... most synthetic wigs shouldn't have heat higher than 300 degrees on them... I have seen some that recommend no higher than 280, and I've seen some that say you can go up to 350. Here is a video I did using steam on a heat friendly synthetic (steam works on those as well): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ma2dBwjKElk.htmlsi=w3GUPSvz0suZ-dB0
Hi Denise can you use a hot air brush plastic on you non low heat friendly synthetic wigs! I have a Estetica Hudson wig and it does not say whether it is heat friendly or not so I’m assuming it is not heat friendly!!!!! I have a hot air brush and I can use it on low heat do you think it would be ok to use it on my wig? I sure hope so bc it needs some love and help!! Plz let me know!! I am going thru chemo and radiation right now and I’ve had 1 round of chemo which I had an allergic reaction to the drug Taxol that they were giving me and my throat swelled shut and I could not breathe at all!!!!!!!!! I really couldn’t!!!! I was terrified and thank gos my husband was there and saw me struggling to breathe and yelled for help bc I couldn’t speak and it was absolutely terrifying!!!!!!! It took about 15 minutes before I could take a deep breath!!!!!!! I thought my husband thought and so did the nurses thought I was gonna pass out before they got it under control!! It was absolutely terrifying!!!!!!!!! Then they said they had to restart it and my husband and I freaked out bc we were afraid it was gonna happen again!! They gave it to me at a much slower rate this time and then I was fine with it!! I had no problems with it the 2nd time around!!!!!! Thank god for that!!!!!! We were really upset when they said they had to restart it again bc I had such a bad reaction to it the first time!!!
That one is TressAllure Clarissa in Mocha Gold with bangs cut in.... once I get the bangs to lay right I will be selling her so watch my website or email me if you are interested heywigsister@gmail.com. I did a review of her before I cut the bangs here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FXhIBKRjjdM.html
I have hair loss , so i have to wear wig everyday. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. They get very wiggy ,very quickly . Im wordering if a short wig is my best option because the long ones become ratty and brittle very quickly . 😢
Yes! Shorter styles, particularly very short like pixies, are a breeze compared to longer, even shoulder lengths. They are much less maintenance and will last much longer.
Yikes, Denise, none of the connections to the brushes or the videos were in the drop down description so that I could follow up and order them from Amazon 😢😢
I'm not sure where you are looking, but there is a link to all three of them in the description, I just checked. I'll paste them here for you but they are definitely there. Hot Tools Volumizer Brush: amzn.to/3H1GSf7 Hot Tools 1 1/2": amzn.to/38Y7e54 Hot Tools 3/4" (small barrel): amzn.to/3xt2dLt
Hey Denise can you use a plastic hot roller brush on regular synthetic wigs? I have a Estetica Hudson wig but it doesn’t say HD or HF so I’m assuming it is not but I want to put some heat to the bangs do you think it would be ok on a low setting? Plz let me know?!
I have used plastic hot air brushes on my regular synthetics many times. Sometimes, though, they don't product enough heat to get the desired result. If that happens you can use a round brush and a clothing steamer as well.
Hello Denise! I really enjoy your videos! Thank you for sharing you knowledge and experience! Do you ever use the hot air brushes on your curly styles, like Girl Mono? If so how? I feel like my Girl Monos need a touch up but I dont want to ruin the curl pattern. Thank you!
Thank you! I would never take heat to any of my curly wigs if I want to keep the curl pattern intact. Unfortunately that is the reality of wig wearing.... heat will alter a wig's style. That is why I don't personally like to get curly or wavy wigs in heat friendly fibers. They need periodic heat to keep the fibers supple but the heat will change the curl or wave. It is possible to put curl into both heat and non-heat friendly wigs but you will never be able to duplicate what came from the manufacturer. Sorry.... I'm sure that wasn't the answer you wanted. ❤️
If the tag is still in the wig it might say... it really depends on the manufacturer. If all else fails, take a little tiny piece at the nape and put heat to it... if it singes then it isn't heat friendly.
Hi, Debera. I'm so sorry I missed this question- The second wig (with bangs) is TressAllure Clarissa in Mocha Gold- I cut bangs into this one, it does not come with bangs. Here is my review on this style: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FXhIBKRjjdM.html
I'm so sorry I forgot to list them! I have added them now but just so you don't have to go searching, here they are: The first wig is Raquel Welch Untold Story in SS Iced Cafe Latte - I straightened this one a bit. here is my review PRE-straightening: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9IviCQup6-I.html The second wig (with bangs) is TressAllure Clarissa in Mocha Gold- I cut bangs into this one, it does not come with bangs. Here is my review on this style: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FXhIBKRjjdM.html
If you use these on wigs with waves or curls you will remove the curl so I would not. I would never use a crimper or ANY curling iron on a regular synthetic.. the heat is way too much for those fibers.
It is TressAllure Clarissa in Mocha Gold with bangs cut in.... here is my review of that one pre-bangs ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FXhIBKRjjdM.html ... I will be selling her if I can get the bangs to look right so watch my website if you are interested! www.heywigsister.com
im of the opinion the less you mess with a wig the better. Trim it where you need, get it to how you like it and keep it clean and its the easier thing you will every wear. Don’t get into the habit of hot air brushing it unless its after a wash or first couple of wears.
You're talking specifically about non heat friendly, though, correct? If so I totally agree with you. I would say the reason to use a hot air brush on non heat friendly would be if you're trying to correct something or if flyways are out of control and you're trying to tame them.
On regular synthetic (not heat friendly) the only hot air brush I would use is an all plastic one... and always make sure you spritz the wig with a little water first. This is the one I've used on regular synthetics: amzn.to/3TCU3LL Here is a video showing that: amzn.to/3TCU3LL And here is another: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ILOH9SubBkQ.htmlsi=kHc62FOSd7x1Ogaw
