Hot and cold Elephant's Toothpaste 

Chief Scientist Carl Nelson demonstrates what happens to a classic chemical reaction when you change the temperature of the reactants. The decomposition of hydrogen peroxide using a catalyst (and some dish detergent) is often called Elephant's toothpaste. The production of oxygen gas is what creates the foam. Here we look at what happens when you chill or heat the hydrogen peroxide before decomposition.
