I’m still working on cleaning up the over growth of hedge trees but watching your content gives me a good idea of what to use when I’m ready to work on food plots. Your videos help reduce some of the trial and error that goes on when trying to start manage areas for hunting. Thank you

My first attempt with Domain's Hot Chic wasn't successful. Not that it didn't grow because it did, but the deer destroyed it, LOL. I'm thinking with a true throw and grow plot, the roots weren't deep enough. The deer pulled the plants out roots and all. On my bigger plots, where I used implements and seed mixes. The results were tremendously better! I also mowed one of the plots twice at a 3.5" height, and this was thickest and most lush of the two. Judging from the last viewing of the trail cam pics! These two plots are attracting deer from other properties, too. So, the moral of this story is to know the deer density in your area......

Hey Paul! Yeah I hear you. We planted Big Sexy at my buddy’s place and the deer absolutely crushed it… for months. It’s still holding up, but crazy how they can wipe it out.

I also had a similar issue. I had a small backwoods plot got it in early spring. Pretty sure deer and turkeys both ate it to the dirt. Going to try and expand the area and maybe seed it a little thicker to see if that helps.

Just found your channel. was looking for Hot Chic reviews. I just planted it for the first time this year. I may have to replant since it is so dry. We have only had one measurable rain since the first week in June and that was in Sept a month before we planted. We are "supposed" to get rain a couple of times in the next week. I'm thinking about going and getting a couple of jugs of Hot Chic and re-seeding right before it rains. Anyway, liked your video. Subscribed and I'll be checking out the rest.

I tried the no bs seed and made 2 kill plots but even after some good prep work. It just didn’t take off, rained right after too. Wondering if I needed some fertilizer on it?

Hey Sam! Hmmm did you happen to check your soil’s PH? Mine is pretty acidic (in the 4s, but it still grows up pretty good for me).

Man I threw down hot chic , come back kid ,& big sexy from domain 2 times this year. One plot only came up half. I just planted hall pass before this rain hit. The drought this year in Pennsylvania hit my plots hard

IDK if this test would prove anything other than how it grows. Deer like certain foods, depending upon when they're available and palatable. Just because you grow it, it doesn't mean success. Once in awhile one of us blind squirrels finds a nut in the woods every once in awhile. 99% of the time it is just dumb luck when a buck of a lifetime appears......

The price per/coverage area would be good information, if both were to cover 1/4 acre the cost difference would be good to know. The one that was mostly rye grass could be useful as a fill-in to keep the ground from remaining bare, but unless the Domain was 7× the cost, its small seeds would give a better return because it would be utilized more as food instead of ground cover. The rye grass might be eaten in the absence of anything else green, but you do not have that setup available with freerange deer and fowl. Many think the poundage on the container is a good measure, but if the seed is coated the weight of the coating should be subtracted, and if the seed is not going to produce something that will attract or nourish the desired target, one's money is being misspent. To better your "test beds", you would need to measure their square footage and then weigh out the proportional amount of seeds from each challenger to spread on the bed.

Throw and grow is just a terrible product. They could’ve made just a good product if they kept the Rye grass % low

Deer don't eat rye grass. They'll eat cereal rye or winter rye. Avoid any product with rye grass.
