Most Jamaican truckers can drive but can't shift properly and no practice rpm so they dnt know when to change a proper gear. They changing gear too fast. Yes clutch is not a must but Driving for a big foreign company with a company truck they require the usage of the clutch. Some even say you must double clutch. Clutch neutral, clutch gear. They watch every cent and it cost less maintanace and they monitor your driving. The best way to know your rpm is. When you at 15 MPH, 1+5 is 6, so you should rev the engine to 1300 and shift into 6th. For 25 MPH 2+5 is 7 so shift into 7th at 1300 rpm.. 1200 to 1500 rpm is the sweet spot to change gear. When hauling load or going up hill you need to Rev higher with the rpm as the load or the hill cut back the rpm faster than when on level road. This guy in the video is sinking the clutch too far activating the clutch brake. Only need to go half way with the clutch when changing gear. Clutch brake is for a complete stop. This guy must drive a donkey cart.
