This is quite possibly one of the tightest wound movies i've ever seen. Not a single shot is fluff, not a single shot is wasted and there are SO MANY hidden gems of jokes in there. The Cornetto Trilogy is well up there among the best comedies out there, but this one in particular just does it so well. The world's end is another gem you'd love.

What an amazing movie. The more times you watch it, the better it gets. Layers upon layers of foreshadowing and jokes in a really tight script. Edgar Wright at his best.

To fully understand this film, You need to watch "The Wicker Man" from 1973. It is one of the most iconic British films ever, and - without introducing any spoilers - let's just say that it influenced strongly the script writing of "Hot Fuzz".

This is definitely the funniest film of the Three Flavors Cornetto trilogy. Rory McCann was great in this movie, and just four years later he would go one to play my favorite Game of Thrones character, the Hound!!!

I love that you picked up on the writing. The script is so tight and full of jokes, every line is either a setup or a payoff. Not a single wasted line or shot in the whole movie. It's in my top 3 favorite comedies for sure.

I was in the vice unit Britain. A village like what he's working would PROBABLY have the highest rank of an Inspector. The areas of command are divided by counties. It's not the Nottingham police, it's Nottinghamshire Police. The Chief Constable is in command of the Shire/County. Under the Chief are Assistant Chiefs over Divisions like City Division, County Division, Responce, Detectives etc. Take "Vice"/ On Street Prostitution. In our office we had 1 Sargent, 2 Constables, 2 Police Community Service Officers, and 2 Community Protection Officers. The highest rank that lived in the office was the Sargent. (Neil is an Astrophysicist). He answered to an Inspector who answered to a Chief Inspector and so on up the food chain.

The police actually like this for the most realistic part every other movie forgets about. Paperwork!

The editing in this movie is seriously good. It manages to turn hours of tedium into snappy montages that add energy to what should be skull-splitting ephemera.

Everybody recognizing Edward Woodward as the original "Equalizer" 1987 makes me feel old as I watched him as Callan int 1967-72 TV spy series and 1974 film "Callan" But nobody seems to have mentioned that he was the star of the 1973 film " The Wicker Man" whose influences run through "Hot Fuzz". Should be on any film fans list.

This is one of my all-time favorites. I love how little jokes like "Fascist, hag" and "Farmers and Farmer's mums" come back. And it has a stacked cast too. Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Timothy Dalton, Olivia Colman, Martin Freeman, Steeve Coogan, Bill Nighy. Fun fact: Santa was played by Peter Jackson and Janine was played by Cate Blanchett.

This is hands down my favourite film!!! Its amazing the amount of funny lines and moments that packed in there. It really does need multiple viewings, im so glad you enjoyed it. May i suggest you watch baby driver ( if you havent already), it is by the same director ( Edgar Wright) but hasnt got Simon Pegg in it.

Bad Boys 1 was awesome, I didn't think they could make the sequel better. Nope. Bad Boys 2 was, "off the chain!"

The biggest difference between this and Shaun of the Dead is that here you were paying attention. Now I hope you realize that the Edgar Wright style of editing doesn't leave much room for chatter watching his movies. I'd even recommend revisiting Shaun of the Dead in your own time.

Some of this was filmed in & around my town, like the other two Cornetto films. The Romeo & Juliet scene was shot in a small theatre next door to my mum's nursery for example. I think mainly because Simon Pegg lives about 5mins away. I also remember Tom Cruise landing his helicopter in Simon' Pegg's garden a while back.. it's a strange world ha Also, i absolutely love this film & I'm glad it become a cult classic. It's stuffed full of easter eggs & references. You spot something new every time you watch it.

If you dress up as 7 of 9 from Star Trek and I will start buying Factor...
