You can make your soap dough using HTHP or LTHP, depending on your skill level. In the video, I use a process of soap making called High Temperature Hot Process (HTHP) which uses high heat and continuous mechanical mixing. You can also make it in a crockpot using Low Temperature Hot Process (LTHP). To learn more about making hot process soap, please check out The Ultimate Guide to Hot Process Soap for complete instructions on how to safely create and formulate beautiful hot process soap recipes. Sounds good to me. Just getting started, retiring after this year, it looks like something to learn to master. I will check out your books and your web site.

What were the liquids you added? At what point did you turn off the heat? How long did you leave it covered each time? This video is somewhat helpful but incredibly ambiguous

Sorry. I’m not English languager, so I didn’t understand when you right the percentage of the superfat oils. You said(we added an additional 5% olive oil for 8% total superfat) what that means how mutch glycerin and how mutch olive oil? Because the total superfat is 5% how it become 8%? Please answer me

Hi, I did not made the recipe yet but in the recipe I read "we added an additionnal 5% olive oil for 10% total superfat". The recipe already contain 5% superfat. So by adding 5% at the end (once saponification is done), it goes up to 10% superfat. The total recipe is 16 oz oils so you would add 5% of 16 oz = 0.8 oz olive oil. The quantity of the glyrecin and when to add it is written on the line #1 and is 25% of total oils (36 oz) so 4 oz glycerin. Hope this help!

hi there i love your videos and how you have a unique way to do the things that was a mystery before.I have a request and I was wondering if by any chance you have a pipable rebatched KOH type cream soap recipe that can be used to do piping on mp soap. ive seen many people on the internet pipe beautiful flowers using this HP soap and claim that its soft for upto 24hours giving enough piping time and that it hardens up to a hard soap when dry. is there any thing like that you know of that you may care to share?

I noticed that you use NaOH instead of KOH for this hot process recipe. What is the reason for the change in lye? Thank you

@@THEULTIMATEGUIDETOSOAP I'm sorry...I had this confused with liquid soap. Liquid soap uses KOH.

Will this stay soft or eventually harden as the water evaporates off?
@THEULTIMATEGUIDETOSOAP
@THEULTIMATEGUIDETOSOAP 5 лет назад
This recipe is created to stay soft and pliable until the very last drop. If kept in a plastic storage container, it will stay soft for months. It can also be adapted to create a soap dough that hardens for things like embeds and toppings. Check the website out for the full recipe and more information!

Gloves
@THEULTIMATEGUIDETOSOAP
@THEULTIMATEGUIDETOSOAP 5 лет назад
Gloves, eyewear, protective clothing and a respirator, in addition to strict adherence to lye and soap safety protocols, are used during the saponification portion of this and all of our other videos. In hot process soap making, after the recipe has finished saponifying from the cook, the pH of the soap is skin safe and gloves are no longer mandatory. This recipe is safe and ready for use after production for a long-lasting and fun soap play dough experience. Thank you for caring! ❤
