It was so hard to find an English speaking expert. I find your tutorials incredible easy to follow and informative. I inherited and old Hohner Verde II 80 bass 34 treble keys. I have never played one but fancy doing so to accompany my folk accappella singing. It was in relatively poor condition with several notes not sounding :( I decided to have a go at taking it to bits to see if I could by some miracle get it working and clean it all up. I removed the bellows and basically several reeds fell out as the wax had become brittle and pins loosened. I then started reading up and started to get enthused. I removed the rest of the reeds and have put them in note order. I started watching RU-vid but was lost until I found your channel. I was wondering if you would be kind enough to guide me as to the correct insertion of the notes on either side of the bass reed box? I took photos and have worked out where several go looking at the scratches on the reeds but I can't tell where they all belong. It's also hard to find any details of what note value each reed should have regarding which are supposed to be in pitch and what 'cents' value plus or minus each should be set to. Is there a chance you can help? I can send some photos to show where I am in my project. The other thing is why is it called a Verdi II ? I've seen several Verdi II's and all look different or have different specs. I look forward to hearing from you Sir. Thanking you so much in anticipation.
The red thickness is a good starting point but the bass reeds can be a real pain to get to speak reliably. I find getting the higher of the two reeds set well will aid the lower Reed to speak reliably
@@MelodeonTunes Thank you so much for a reply, it is good of you to pass on the secrets of your trade, but for me, there is nothing like a Hohner, Stay safe.
