New subscriber bro. Well done mate. Love your content and love the fact you keep the language pretty kosher so I can watch it with my 7 year old who is mad about fishing .
Hi Desmond! There are plenty of great options for beginner fishing kayaks - I would recommend a Viking Profish 400. Ocean Kayak also make good kayaks, but I am not familiar with their models of kayaks. Jump on the Kayak Fishing NZ Facebook page as lots of fishing kayaks get sold there! Hope this helps. Cheers.
Nice video as always. Does your audio come straight from the gopro or do you have an external mic? If gopro, which camera do you generally get the audio from?
Thanks mate! Audio coming straight from.the GoPro. Always head cam. Front cam doesn't sound great - being attached to the kayak there is a lot of hull noise. I edit the audio a bit to make it sound better too. Hope this helps 👍🏽
Is that the 7'6" 4-8kg veritas? That's what I've been using and really liking. Was nervous about it being a bit light but I've had a big kahawai run under the yak and it didn't snap and caught a few big snapper on it so far.
Glad to hear you're enjoying the Veritas mate. It's certainly my favourite softbait rod. I use the 6-10kg version which has dealt to plenty of 20lb+ snapper. A lot of the other softbait rods I used in the past couldn't hack it, as soon as you put the pressure on they cracked. Never had that issue with the Veritas.
This makes me want to hit kawakawa bay super badly. Looks like a great action packed session and hot bite. Definitely seems very fish high fish activity now, Auckland harbour been super dead recently 🤣
