This time, I went to Kurokawa Onsen Shinmeikan in Minamioguni-machi, Aso-gun, Kumamoto Prefecture.
After crossing the small, charming bridge over the inn and proceeding into the inn, which retains a nostalgic, uniform appearance, you will find yourself in a relaxing, traditional Japanese landscape.
Then there is the magnificent cave bath, created by the third generation owner, who played a key role in turning Kurokawa Onsen into the popular hot spring resort it is today.
The open-air bath with beautiful hot water is located on a hilltop with a great view.
There are also many other open-air baths that give you a sense of nature and other tasteful open-air baths.
Kurokawa Onsen has a well-functioning tourist inn cooperative, so there are various systems in place.
The Kurokawa Onsen Ryokan Association "Kaze no Ya," located in the center, provides information on day-trip baths, accommodation, sightseeing, and more, so it is very convenient to use.
They also sell bath passes that allow you to visit the hot springs at a discount.
The Kurokawa gourmet this time is from Shokusai Hana Akari, an authentic Western restaurant.
You can enjoy a relaxing meal while looking at the beautiful scenery.
