Join Rob 'Hammer' as he answers a subscriber question regarding the reason why we complete a 10th stage bleed air transition to the APU before landing. This question required an in-depth discussion on the operation of the GE CF34-3B's 10th & 14th Stage Bleed Air Systems as modelled on the Challenger 650 by Hot Start. As always, if you have questions please ask. Thank you for your support, don't forget to like and subscribe to help support this channel.

THIS VIDEO CONTENT IS NOT TO BE USED FOR REAL WORLD FLIGHT TRAINING
The primary purpose of any FAAV videos is to enhance your flight simulator experience with a real Challenger 650 Business Jet Captain operating a desktop simulated aircraft. While I am using real-world procedures (for the most part), including flight planning, flight procedures, etc. they should never be duplicated in real life.
While I am a real-world pilot who operates this type of aircraft, this is purely for entertainment only.
Personal questions regarding my employment and or remuneration will not be answered. Thank you for your understanding

It would have been nice to have the bleed diagram open during the packs transition so we could see what the actions do in the system, and WHY we have that transition profile.

Hi. Help me to understand, please. 10-th stage after takeoff: you performed ALIR transition, but official devs procedures says it has to be RILA. 10-th stage before landing: you performed LARI transition, but official devs procedures says it has to be ALIR. Where's the truth?

Hi Rob! I notice that on the ATS mode panel you have "DESCENT" indicated. When coming down, my indication is always "SPEED". Can you explain why this is? Tx!

Wow great catch Gilles, I do not normally use this mode, I mostly used to make the video. I started at flight level 200, set the Alt Sel down to 8000 feet. And then pressed FLC. Immediately the aircraft starts descending, the target speed is 250 kts. There’s probably some way to adjust the speed, however in real life this would certainly be just too slow for a Descent. I would normally descend in speed mode as you do. However FLC provides a more automatic approach to descent management.
