Hot Tent Camping in a Canvas Wall Tent (Homemade Tortillas Cooked on Wood Stove)

Really nice, it's been a million years since I've been camping with my family. Your setup looked really great and with a gourmet dinner to boot! Some of my greatest memories include camping times with long roads wishing we'd get off the rocky road and just be there already. You're seeing ahead, here and now. 🌲🌱

Loved seeing you use a canvas wall hot-tent! My family used canvas wall tents for fishing, hunting trips before getting a truck camper back in the 1960s. My husband and I have a 9 x 12 canvas wall tent we used for outdoor holiday dinning for years, our Airstream camper was too small for a larger group dinning ... worked beautifully! You can set a really festive mood inside one of those tents for birthdays and Valentine's Day. Perfect for Thanksgiving holiday season 😋. A friend used one as a shelter for their Lay Inside (east to west) HOT AND COLD SAUNA! Perfectly! She used it to seek relief after Cancer Chemo Sessions. Canvas wall tents are a prized possession of many who own them and take regular care ❤ of them. Great video! BTW, we use Railroad (short) Spikes when in heavy-duty rains, winds or deep snow. You can get them at hardware stores to keep on hand when you use your tent in questionable weather conditions. And use Stainless Steel O-rings to attach your guy lines to the Spikes and to the tent fittings. 👍

Have you ever thought about offering catered "Dinner in the Mountains"? That looked like something out of a travel guide. Awesome food! Is your friend a chef? I really liked the camper, but I continue to follow and love seeing you try out different "modes". This one looked pretty darn nice but I wouldn't want to deal with setting\packing it all up everywhere you go.

❤❤❤ seeing you guys do this Canvas Wall Tent vid. If you're going to be using it often this winter look into buying a full-on rain fly for it. Also when rolling your outside windows and doors reverse Rolling them from rolled upwards to rolled under ... it helps to keep them cleaner and free of dirt/sand build-up on the velcro. Rolling them up (downward) protects them and gives you a good seal since it's clean. I hope I explained that right. Reverse how you roll them instead of an upward motion. 👌.

Do more Hot tent camping, and just tent camping when it's gets warmer.

We like spam cooked on foil right on top of the wood stove in our hot tent. Fun to be in a tee shirt in the tent when it's well below freezing. And if you are hauling all the stuff then take cots for everyone. Gets you off the ground. We use an oil drip pan under the stove. Find at any auto parts store. Cheers from Oregon.

I’ve only watched a couple of your videos but I have to say, I absolutely love the fact that 2 young men can cook so well. You keep doing what you’re doing and eating healthy and as you get older you won’t have any regret’s. I wish I would have done this when I was younger and healthy but people didn’t really know much about this life seeing there wasn’t any internet!!😂

Been of fan of the videos for a long time now. Meal looks unreal! You should post some of the recipes you make we would love that!

Pretty nice wall tent. I have a 10 x 12 built by Davis Tent and Awning, Denver, Co. A well built tent as well. For a couple of guys, a 10 12 is in my opinion a minimum size for extended stays. Wall tents are great. The down side is when it's really windy for several days in a row the wind gets tiring. The walls flopping around. And if you want them to last you need to insure it's thoroughly dry before you set it aside for any extended time period. Even treated fabric will get moldy if you don't. That, and it takes me about an hour or so to set up and take down. If it's snowing and blowing and in the teens it won't feel like a sauna - believe me. But fun stuff. That was some fine food!

Great video Jonathan. You do not have to add lard to the MASECA (corn). Just add water and mix. Lard is added to flour tortillas.

Just a little tip, I have the same stove, the burn is not controllable really. I added a self adhesive stove door gasket and now I have 100% control. I can make one burn at night last 5 hours
