Hey, tipping cats helping you is class. I used to deliver/set up/teach medical equipment 'on call' at all hours of the night, and was rarely tipped. I understood that, people were so concerned about their loved ones, but those that did, KNEW what I had to go through at sometimes 3-4 in the morning. class act, brother.

Hey there! Great review! Super helpful :) I just bought this exact tub on the same deal you got. Just wanted to check to see what type of chemical maintenance you are using on it? With it being a smaller Ozone tub, I'm curious how much chemicals are even needed to keep it clean. Thanks!

@antray8481
@antray8481 5 лет назад
Like other people have said a lot of this comes down to preference. These hot tubs are built very much for immediate validation. As in they look good, do what people expect of a hot tub and have those cool features that people hear about, lights etc. What you don't get however is the self supporting fibre glass shell, full foam insulation and long warranty of the big brands. Things that keep the tub working well for 10yrs or more. So a lot of it comes down to short vs long term gains. Neither is better or worse but it depends what you want. I personally went for the long term gain. If I am not using the thing in 3 years and the novelty has worn off then that is going to be a mistake but again its personal preference .
@PhatkatCollections
@PhatkatCollections 5 лет назад
You nor I can predict how long anything will last. I think simple is better. This tub is simple and it works. I think your argument only suits your idea that spending more means your going to get something that lasts longer and that is simply not true. I have a basic jet tub in my master bedroom its a pump and four jets. its lasted 20 years and the pump finally went. For you to just judge a hot tube with no facts its absurd. In addition know your facts. Fiberglass is something id never want in a tub. Its fragile and prone to cracking
@beentheredonethatoriginals5673
You are correct Anthony, this is perfect for someone that wants to take a tub home, plug it in, and jump in that night. As you can see in the video this is really just a large plastic bathtub with a small pump that moves water around, and there's nothing wrong with that at all. At that price point it is a good deal. I love Costco personally, and I shop there all the time, they have good quality items. But the reviewer is obviously not that familiar with hot tub manufacturing. To think cheap roto moulded plastic is somehow better than an acrylic and fiberglass shell is like saying their Yugo will outlast your Toyota. The operating expenses for this tub will be twice what a quality tub costs, I'm an electrician and it's basic math. But this guy got a tub that he can have friends over and have a good time. That is what matters. And it could last 10 years, it doesn't have to cost 10K to last that long.
@PhatkatCollections
@PhatkatCollections 5 лет назад
First off the reviewer doesnt have to be familiar with hot tub manufacturing to be happy with his purchase. ALL hot tube are big bathtubs that move water around. More expensive ones have dual pumps more jets and more features. Not saying paying 10 grand for a hot wont get you a better quality product but longevity is not guaranteed with anything. Also big brands such as thermospa have acrylic models as well at over double the price. As far as making assumptions of the operating expense that is absurd as well. Use, location, temperature etc all determine that. In addition a 220 line vs a 110 isnt any more efficient. It just runs the heater at 4000 watts as opposed to 1000. It heats up faster and maintains temp because the heater is on when the pump is on. This tub using it daily at max temp in the winter at about 30-39 degrees costs me about 40 dollars per month. Less if I dont use it as much. Lets not forget a 220 line costs 1800-2000 dollars to install so lets not forget about the electricians rip off fee. I installed a dedicated 110 for 50 bucks.
@PhatkatCollections
@PhatkatCollections 5 лет назад
A self supporting fiberglass shell ? that doesnt make it better. Acrylic has give to it. Fiberglass cracks. Not saying its bad im just saying you nor I know how long this tub will last. Thats just common sense.

This video over simplify's the delivery process due to the fact that most spas have a depth that prohibits delivery through a doorway opening. Average spa depth is 33-38" and that is typically larger than most doorway openings. It also doesn"t talk about what the spa has for a warranty or anything about the manufacturer. I have worked for the top two manufacturers of spas who have been building spas for over 40 years. They provide a dealership network that will service the spa in case of a problem. Costco is not going to do anything to help you when you have a problem other than refer you to the owners manual for the phone number of the manufacturer. The dealership you buy from is extremely important for support on water chemistry, maintenance, and repairs if needed. Dont buy based on price, because the old adage of you get what you paid for really comes into play when making this kind of investment.
@PhatkatCollections
@PhatkatCollections 4 года назад
Well first of all your incorrect. Your "opinion" of what my video should include does not mean its over simplified. The process is exactly as stated. I am not sure about your situation, however most folks do not need to even go through a doorway to access their back yard. This spa went through my door perfectly. You telling me that I oversimplified it because of what some doorways might measure is irrelevant. It is common sense that every persons home will be a unique delivery. The point, that you missed, is what to expect when ordering a hot tub from a big box store such as costco. I state that the delivery will be curbside and that throwing a little cash at the 3rd party delivery guys might make delivery a bit easier. Of course, if you buy from a local place that charges you 6-20 grand for a hot tub, your going to get a delivery that is easier. Your statement, you get what you pay for, is false. We all know that no one can guarantee the lifespan of anything. Also, spas are not spaceshuttles. If I have an issue, costco will point me in the right direction. They really stand behind things they sell. You also mentioned that the top manufactures provide a dealership network for service. Um no, that is not entirely true. The customer is ultimately paying for that by being ripped off by the mom and pop spa shops. In addition you are over complicating owning one of these. water chemistry and maintenance is super easy and if there are questions imagine a tool that allows you to access information at the tip of your fingers whenever you want called the internet. You act like water chemistry is some big mystery LOL. We are not cooking meth here dude. The only reason a person would have an issue with water chemistry is due to neglect. Its pretty simple man. I think most people can sprinkle a few chemicals into a big tub of water LOL. In addition, I am not sure what kind of spa dealers you have worked with, but pretty much every spa dealer in my town would be willing to test my water if needed regardless of where I purchased the spa. If a dealer wouldn't, he wouldn't be getting my business for future chemical purchases. Ill finish with this. Just because you spend more doesn't mean you get a superior product or a guarantee. If this were true , you wouldnt be able to purchase a 90k dollar jaguar 7years later for 20 grand. This can be said with many overpriced things. Now im not saying that there arent differences but lets not treat a spa like some state of the art F-22 fighter. Its not that complicated.

I was wondering if you think I would put it sideways on an aluminum hand truck and roll it around the side of my house (on grass) to my backyard, by myself? I probably have about the same strength as you. I am concerned that I may damage it? (the hand truck, or maybe it might tip over?) The fence doorway has a 37" opening and the Spa is only 35" tall. Should I be confident in myself?...be sure to have help of others? Or hire a moving company? Thanks for any help, anyone...

I replied to another comment below but in my experience living in a rural area, there are no parts or service for these hot tubs. We bought our Costco Divine hot tub several years ago and live about 60 miles from Cincinnati. We have multiple problems with ours and when we call for help the nearest spa companies literally laugh at us. Divine has literally never answered any email. There is no repair manual at least for ours, (Divine 1040). What I have had to do is try to fix it myself and after spending hundreds of dollars I still struggle to understand the electronics etc. it still is not fixed. In my judgement unless you arrange for local service do not buy.
@PhatkatCollections
@PhatkatCollections 4 года назад
did they really laugh at you? I would make sure I never purchased anything from those stores as thats not the way to treat a potential customer. Mine is not a divine it is an aquaterra. I have had no issues however any reputable spa repair shop should be able to fix it. Also I would contact costco. They are all about taking care of the customer.

Phatkat Collections Thanks for the reply. We decided not to contact Costco since it is out of warranty and we are not those people like some I’ve heard that think Costco is responsible for everything. The spa shop rep near us chuckled softly as she took my information and said someone would call, I waited and called a couple more times over the next week. Answered once, took messages the other times. The last time I called them, the woman said she was in the warehouse and would talk to me in a minute when she got to the office. She never returned to the line. Another company asked why didn’t you buy from us? And then said we can’t help you.

I guess I'm a bit confused. Why would you not want to contact Costco , the place you purchased it, but contact places you didn't purchase it from.ans expect them them to help you. To me it seems the best way to get the problem resolved is to get contact Costco. At least they will try and help you. Costco takes care.of their customers and will not slam the door in your face. Makes no sense to contact local mom and pop spa stores and not the place you actually bought it

Phatkat Collections well the warranty is over, there is no service department at Costco, what do you think I should do, ask them for a refund? After 4+ years? That would be ridiculous. They would maybe at best find a service contact maybe from Columbus at a cost of oh say $500.00 to start with. You know as well as I do that all the tubs from reputable companies use the same parts and any local spa dealer claiming to service spas would be able to service it, if wanting the business, all as YOU said in your original reply. Hardly like taking a watch etc. I’ve got no problem with your vid, I just related my personal experience I’m not sure what you’re confused about. You seem to be increasingly upset about my experience like I did something wrong. I just suggested people be careful about buying something that a service company in their own area may not want to service. Buying the Divine from a company 2000 miles away was not a good judgment for me. To the extent you are interested in it, I think I will be able to fix it using readily available parts from many suppliers, including Balboa, the supplier of the electronics. Anyway I liked your video, just not my experience, sorry, not sorry.

don't get bent out of shape because I can't understand your attempt at putting together a sentence. I can only assume you are trying to brag about how you fixed a broken hot tub and somehow you think it's funny I purchased a new one or you find it funny your hot tub heats up 2 dig per hour. Your comment makes no sense.

The big scare thing about Costco units are even if you get one of the big name brands that give you a 3-7year warranty since you buy it from Costco it has 0 warranty. Only the Costco (or sams club) guarantee. The other thing to note on these units is that you do save quite a bit up front. But if you measure power consumption and keeping it warm over 5 years you do average $1-2 more per day in power consumption than a higher end super efficient
@PhatkatCollections
@PhatkatCollections 4 года назад
Actually you are over generalizing. Most brands do not give you a seven year warrenty. Costco on the other hand states that if your unhappy for any reason with any of their products minus computers and electronics you can get a refund. In addition, as far as efficiency you are 100 percent wrong. Efficiency had nothing to do with the price of a tub. Location, usage, electricity cost and insulation determines cost of usage. My buddy spent 8 grand on his tub I spent 2k. The operating cost is about the same. They say 220 tubs are more efficient but the efficiency is not in regards to operating cost it is in regards to how fast the unit can best the water and maintain temp. My tub can go 220 or 110. At 110 the heater draws 1000 watts at 220, 5000 watts. Wattage is wattage. If my tub takes an hour to get back up to 104 degrees a 220 will do it much fast but at a higher power consumption for a shorter time. At the end of the cyce the lower usage is the same.

Phatkat Collections not talking so much about the 110 vs 220 thing. In reality other than quicker and heat/pumps at the same time efficiency is around 5-7% better on 220 which I would consider minimal. It is much easier on the pumps tho in the long run. I’ll try to find the post from the guy explaining Costco and samsclub units and what they do inside the tub vs what it shows and says on the outside. Including the whole pump number scam when they add a low end air pump to say more pumps. Also the larger jets on the outside with the same smaller feed hoses going to them and the pumps being undersized you properly run them. And they are doing this on more expensive models than this one. I’d agree that for this price you can’t get better near it. But people that look at the 5k+ Costco units it’s different. The warranty thing is something people don’t really want to get a refund. Getting that thing back to the store is a nightmare.

I'm just saying there are no guarantees in life and just because a person spends 10k on a tub doest mean it will be less problematic or outlast a less expensive tub.

For the love of hot tubbing!! Clean the 🤬 tub! I was shocked 😮 he filmed with all the bugs and debris in the water. Nasty. Terrible for the filters. If you are in the market for a hot tub, just Save up your funds and go with the wired 220 hot tub. Much more jet power and overall more enjoyable tubbing experience. He basically has a disposable tub. But, I understand cost is the deciding factor.
@PhatkatCollections
@PhatkatCollections 4 года назад
first of all asswipe a fee things floating around is inevitable when the hot tub is place under trees and a pergola. second, this hot tub is not disposable. you morons think you have to pay 8 grand for a tub for it to last. completely I correct. third 220 does. it give you more jet power and this hot tub can. be 220 or 110. 220 only allows the heater on she. the pump is on high. that's the only difference. it's not more efficient it's just quicker at reheating. 220 draws 4000 watts on this tub when 120 draws 1000 for the heater. it's capable of hearing the water quicker due to more wattage. more wattage equals more power used. yes you use more power for less time but you still ultimately use the power. more power for a shorter time as apposed to slower longer temperature increase. and the water is. it nasty you hater troll fuck. it's got a little debris on it from normal use you bag of shit
