Thank you heistnite ! Gently blew through each port of the pressure tube connectors. Reconnected the flexible tube, restored electrical power and voila it works. Your helpful tip saved me $$ & time...on a Sunday when professional help [hopefully] had a well-earned weekend off.
Checked mine out, some water came out of that tube. Now its going. Man gotta appreciate the guy who uploads the one vid only just to help out his fellows. Humanity restored.
This saved me! Thanks so much! After much searching finally came across this video with my problem. No water came out, but just blew into the tube and boom, problem solved. Saved me so much time and money on this.
John Woods water heater; had to use a small brass wire to fix, well I do not know what I fixed, but you got us our hot water back my friend. Much appreciated!
Woke up this morning to a dead water heater. Follow the steps in this video and had a working in about 10 minutes. You saved me a fortune bud so thank you very much.
Wow, thank you so much. My State is set up just like yours, suddenly no hot water today. checked all the obvious, was getting the psi sw. code. found your video. Pulled the hose, no water or anything plugging it that i could see, inserted it in the switch side and blew in and out and could hear the sw flipping back and forth, blew the other side out too. again, never saw any obstruction or anything. Turned it back on and it fired up. the sw must have stuck or something. odd but its working now. thanks again!
Thank you for the instructions... i was able to help my friend. we spend $100 on a young tec. He called the waterheater company but they gave tips that didnt work, then i saw this video around 2am. We tried again ourself, it was turning on for 1 minute at a time the we cleand again and blowed out dust from the intake and increased the setting to very hot. Now its working.Thank you!
LOL, so simple. I tired the indoor solutions first to no avail. Then I went outside and checked the exhaust. It was plugged with dust. The tiny filter that was installed was blocked. Cleaned it and re-installed. So far so good. Thanks. I had no idea it could be something so simple. 😍😍
Make sure the vent piping meets specs. Accumulation of dust. mold, algae, etc can cause turbulence and excess backpressure. Only the supplied 45 degree terminal fitting with screen should be used unless local code says otherwise. The tradition here is 2 90's to get the exhaust above any potential snow. To preserve this I replaced about 10 feet right off the fan duct with 3 inch pipe. I also disassembled the fan and used a brush to clean the fan wheel. It had bug poop on it. thanks for the close shot of the pressure switch. It looks like the same unit manufactured by AO smith, Reliance and probably Lochinvar. The unit worked fine for 5 years and then developed the 3 flash switch failed open error code.
Thank you! The exterior vent was blocked by a lawn bag laid up against the house. This was the first video that mentioned to check that also. Fixed in 5 minutes, $0!
Thank you so much for this. My heater is AO Smith. Exactly the same as you have. Hose connector on the blower housing was clogged up. Now it's running like a charm.
It works if you have an error code 6-2 (blinking lights) soft lockout - recycle limit -ps/limit opened water heater. You can also use a paperclip to unclog the moisture or dust in both holes.
Thanks for the video when I checked mine I found a rodent had chewed a hole in the hose so I cut the chewed piece off and reinstalled it and it’s working now
Great stuff !!! Seems to have fixed my problem Curious as to what causes the brass fitting at the fan housing to get blocked. Mine was really blocked and it took a fair bit of blowing pressure to clear it.
My air pressure nipple on the blower housing seems to have been clogged. I could not blow through the tubing. I used a small drill bit to clean it out and removed a clog caused by a powdery white corrosion.
My blower keeps getting water inside of it. Not sure how it is getting in there as there are no leaks anywhere. Maybe it's coming in from the outside vent and when it gets warm out, the condensation/ice runs down into it? Could the water come from somewhere else under the blower assembly?
I’m Having trouble with this on a power vent , I changed the whole venting replaced the whole blower and code still popping up any idea what else I can do ?
