Counting only the fastest Trap Speed, the top 3 is this: 1.- Corvette Grand Sport, 369 mph 2.- Ferrari 599 GTB, 357 mph 3.- Aston Martin DBS, 355 mph Aston was too inconsistant, raging all the way from 320 to 350 mph, the Ferrari was consistently faster than it, but in the end, the Corvette was just way too fast

The reason why the Lamborghinis couldn't get to the finish is because of their long and low front (this applies to all cars with long and low front bumpers). It gets caught on the transition at the end of the drop, scrubbing off their speed and momentum.

Wonderful racing. A real sense of occasion with engine sound effects and play by play commentary. Reminds me of being a kid in 1969, getting together with friends, pooling our tracks, building a long distance drag strip and racing redlines all afternoon, outdoors in the sunshine. Good times.

I had a hillside track ten years ago. To scale, the cars would be moving at 500 mph and some would flip for no apparent reason. I sense it was just like any full-sized racecar. Fascinating stuff!

I could seriously watch this all day long! Bringing back my childhood. Just goes to show that you're never to old to play with toys, especially hot wheels!

The angle of the drop is what’s causing the cars to slow down. If you had track pieces lined up and were dropping from hand in stead of that near vertical drop they’d be more competitive. Still a great tournament

Incthe 80's we thought we would be in flying cars. But here i am eatching 3 grown men playing with hotwheels for youtube. But i dont care, i still have my bread to eat. (I could eat mac n cheese or a corn dog or broccoli. But no i like bread.)

Back in the early 70s I had over 400' of track , 3 power houses, many loops and turns and friends with equal amounts and a cul-de-sac to set up in. We could set up a huge track and leave it out for a few days. It was a different day but a lot of fun. I wonder what all that would be worth today if it was still in good condition.

I dosed off and woke up and they were still racing. I cant stop watching this for some reason. And I'm 50 yrs old.

I’d like to see a mini tournament featuring just the Super Fast Matchbox cars. The Ferrari Testarossa was particularly fast when my dad and I did this type of racing with the Hot Wheels Auto City Garage. We did distance contests with heats like you guys do and the Testarossa seemed to always do well. Stumbling upon this channel has been a pleasant surprise and gives me a ton of nostalgia. 👍🏼

*I think we should've seen the track before voting because some of the cars have front skirts and low ground clearance which rubbed on the track and most of them wiped **out.So** yeah let's see the track before voting for our cars please.*

The 380 was crazy but my favorite race still has to be the civic race, that was so close & the comeback at the very end was intense

at the matchbox viper I noticed the right track seems to be the side that keeps not finishing I know if a track isnt completly smooth from my sons tracks they seem the get binded up but this is awesome cannot wait to do stuff like this in the summer with him

That white F40 wasn’t one of the insanely fast “gold medal speed” versions based on the card. The gold medal speed version has nickel plated axles. I’m assuming the black F40 at the end is that version although it doesn’t have the tell tale gold lace wheels

The "Gravity Drop" is such a sudden angle, it slows down the cars so much half of the cars cant even finish. Feel like this would be a bit more entertaining if HotWheels thought through their product a little more.

Nice! Brings back memories of when i was a kid (I'm 61 now), and when Hot Wheels came out, I had managed to collect several hundred feed of track. My brother and I set up some humongouslyl long track, from the ROOF of the house down out the back yard and we ran all our cars on races...I had TWO Chevy Nomads that would absolutely smoke every other car (mine, my brothers, and any friends' cars)....they ware awesome...blue and magenta, they smoked any comers. Alas, my ex-wife sold my entire collection at a freakin yard sale in the mid-80's.....I'm still pissed.

So after ghost said that you should divide the speed recorded by 64, i found out that the firebird actually only went 4 and a half mph
