i had both of those cars when I was a kid....The car @ 9:15. I played with them all the time. Back in the days in grade school...Yeap we actaully took our hotwheels to school and played with them in the sand box. We would trade them...ect It's okay if they're little scratch...they got played with....which is cool. The cars we were after was the VW funny car. Back in the days those were all we had..or slot cars.
The 917 is the most popular of the Gran Prix series, then the Ferrari 312. The 69 Gran Prix cars are not very popular but I think it is because you never see them in mint condition with matching front and back sections. Plus they just do not look right bare, without the proper stickers and decals. I once saw 12 different mint condition Ford MKIV models all with perfectly place stickers. They were awesome!
Dave, how do you tell the difference between a Hong Kong wheel and a US wheel? I was not aware there was a difference in wheels, only variations in the casting, windows, bases, and engines between HK and US models.
I do not get much in the beater department. Whenever anyone sends me photos of a collection for sale with worn cars I tell them to put them on ebay since that is where the restorers get their stock for re-doing.
I stumbled upon your site, I love buying Hot Wheels - every time I make a trip to Wal-Mart the Hot Wheel section is always my first stop. Always look for the older looking vehicles. To the point, what might I be looking at, don't know where I found it, I have a King Kuda doesn't have any wheels or Windows.I always thought it would be nice to get it redone somehow. Can you recommend how to go about it.
