I dont do these things but I enjoyed your review of the composimold so much I'm checking out your reviews! your so good at reviewing these. I just am crafting things these days (mostly) ()but have in the far past done a lot of molds and there is soooo many tools and products available now it overwhelming. again.. great job.. wish I would of found you BEFORE composimold idea.
Nice review, buddy...I have the straight wire foam factory wire cutter...I have a little trouble with not being able to keep the tension firm, but I suppose that is me forcing the tool to move to quickly though the foam...still better than the D cell battery operated one I started out with long ago...Jim.
cat! now that he has starred in a review you know we will force you to have him in the next :) He seemed to appreciate the sled the most btw ^^ Anyway, the free hand router seems a nice tool, but how precise can that be? I mean, a straight "blade" on that sled would make more sense to me. this way one could crop shapes keeping a true 90° angle on the sides, while, if one wanted a trench, an electric router would do a better job imho (in your test piece the difference is pretty clear)
+Arturo G. Espindola If you mean expanded polystyrene (white foam with lots of little beads), it will go through it like butter. :) But if you mean spongy foam, like cushion foam, then no. It won't cut it. You'd need to go to a trusty utility blade for that.
so for the #K44P6V kit it has the heat source shown in the vid, a freehand router,and a 6" cutting knife, it doesn't say anything about a sled with the router though, do you think one will be included even if it isnt mentioned?
