Between time stamp 8:35 and time stamp 8:45 , the video narrator uses the initialism "RPE" in the sentence, "it will also specify the correct PPE, and RPE, to wear for the job." However, the video does not teach the viewer (the student) what RPE is. RPE is respiratory protective equipment, such as a gas mask. Also, the abbreviation or initialism "PPE" is used to refer to "personal protective equipment." Personal Protective equipment (PPE) includes: gloves to protect your hands; hard plastic composite-toed shoes; safety glasses for your eyes, and more. The narrator in the video never explained what RPE is. I will leave this comment here in case future students read the video comments for additional help and explanation.
At minute marker 3:48 the narrator mentions "SIMOPS" without explaining what the acronym "SIMOPS" means. Simultaneous Operations are two or more separate jobs, or pieces of work, done on the same day, at the same time. If there was only one worker at a work site, then there would be *_NO_* simultaneous operations. In this context, an "operation" is a piece of work someone does, or a task, or job, which requires some times. Sometimes, the amount of time required is an hour, or one week, etc.... An example of an operation is putting up a sheet of dry wall and/or plaster board inside of a house. The word "simultaneous" means "happening at the same time". Whenever there are two or more people doing two or more different jobs at the same time, those people might accidentally hurt each. If you are not using your eyes to watch your surroundings, you might hit someone with equipment or materials you are carrying under your arm. Also, when person A uses fraying gas lines containing holes then person A might catch person B on fire. That is what they mean by "SIMOPS" or "simultaneous operations." its lots of operations, or tasks, being done at the same time by different people.
