I'm usually biased against any cover of this solo, but this was pleasantly surprising. Injecting something new to what is arguably one of the best guitar solos ever, at the same time keeping enough original elements intact is, I think, what makes this version stand out. Awesome stuff!
@331Erock_ I don't know what to say, wow! I'd like to pay this forward to the next lucky person as I don't have a Telegram account and am not a musician. I am just an admirer of incredible talent.
Omg i like this rock metal version of hotel california., amazing i love it.,the sound is beautiful to my ears., You made my day keep it up idol we support you here in the philippines
As overplayed as this song is, it has to be one of the greatest outro solos of all rock and roll history. Still gives me chills, and your metal version even more so. Rock on, E. You're a legend of RU-vid.
My guy is still going at it after all these years! I love your work, man. They beat the crap out of the originals and you just look so happy when you play, it’s amazing!
Idk if you remember a guy sticking out the car window in Anaheim a couple years ago yelling your name while you were crossing the street saying “I love your videos” but yeah that was me and would like to say once again “I love your videos”
That first half recreating the solo as it was recorded was awesome. Spot on. The real winner though is the modern metal version. That was just mindblowing badassery. I so want to hear a complete version of the whole song in that style.
My dude, I`ve been watching You since the "Children Of Bodom - Kissing the shadows" solo challange) Gotta say, You`re getting better year by year, even though I cannot say how it is still possible to be more impressive time after time. Keep the firm smile, it`s contagious
You okay Erock? I've always enjoyed your videos because of your genuine smile and joy you bring to your music. You seem.... not yourself. Hope all is well.
Been watching your stuff for like 10 years now, you helped inspire me to pick up guitar 2 years ago, keep up the great work, always love hearing anything you have to play!
This dude spent thousands of hours practicing, and 10 minutes to edit the video, just to deliver to us a 4:30 minutes of astonishing content, I love your channel, Eric Keep it up🤘🔥
Oh my... When you finished playing, I felt my forehead relax and realized my eyebrows had been raised for a solid 2 minutes. I'm experiencing forehead fatigue-- and I love it. This is AWESOME!
Reckon my friend showed me one of your videos about 10 years ago. Still glad to see you're still making videos, and glad to see you're smiling while doing it! 😎
Man, I remember finding you when you were brand new. I’d either just graduated high school or was just about to graduate. Either way I was hanging with the same group of doofuses, and one of them goes “yo, dude, Mortal Kombat meets Metal!” and shoves his phone in my face. So yeah that’s the story of how I’ve been subscribed (not necessarily on this account) for at least 12 years now. You just never disappoint.
Two days ago I was messing around with my radio presets in my car and when I was setting one of them up hotel California came on. And then when I open youtube today this was the first video I saw.
My favorite guitar solo. Interesting to hear some very slightly different articulations on your cover of the original even though the notes are identical. Lots of cool modern techniques in the metal version
Brochacho.....yet another absolutely amazing job (and it's been a long time coming). Been a loyal fan/viewer since Harry Potter meets metal 11 years ago...and that 8-bit style solo is still to this day....my absolute favorite....now I have 2 solid no questions asked favs.... Keep up the jams and don't let that smile fade brother....rock out with your hair down and the gain up!!
Erock you are great. Love to listen to your huge spectrum and spectacularly creative renditions. Let me crown you multiple times with the "All along the watchtower"-award (better than the original).
I might not be as old as others here, but this song has been with me since I was born. The original gave me nostalgia; while the metal version is what made my soul sing! It felt closer to how I prefer my music now while still being rooted in my past influences. If you decide to make a full version I will love either! 🖤
Even the traditional version had bits of metal added in, but really, I love both of these! And I'm not much into heavy metal. Your bends are as near to perfect as anyone can get. Great chops, man 👍🏻
If you've never heard Hotel California (you must live under a rock), tune to any adult contemporary/easy listening station between 10 and 11 AM. It WILL play.
Until 2:15….thinks to himself this sounds more like it would if Don Felder was still with the band….after 2:15…well done son, tasteful and very cool version👏🏻👏🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
I've always drawn connections between Hotel California and The Shining. Learning that the song was actually based on a haunted hotel and not just some obscure allegory for death (like my parents think it is) is incredibly vindicating and for that I thank you. Also the metal version is fucking beautiful.
Amazing video! Thank you for including the original version. Great way to show respect to it! 👍🏻👏🏻💪🏻 For the hand full of people that only want to hear the meatal version, pressing "5" on your keyboard will jump right to that part! 🤘🏻✌🏻🔥
