when i move across the country a year ago i lived out of my Honda mini van for 2 months. With my cat , and all my stuff. It took all day to prep for work, get food , get clean (sometimes), ect . Everything had to be moved and put back like a rubix cube every step of everything I did. The only upside was my 1min drive to work.
did you ever use quality or high end side cutters? electrician cutters. They work unlike the cheap the ones. Good linesman's pliers too can cut through screws and nails. They are a must to a tool kit. And will do a much better job than a utility knife in many cases.

You can also put some hook and loop for Velcro on the window and the poster board, I use that stuff for all kinds of things I get it free...LAXVESPA-LOSANGELES
you need to cover the windows next time. And maybe keep the boom in a place the cops don't see it at first glance , they might just open fire and turn that bed cover into swiss cheese before you can say bearded picker.
