Carrying out the annual inspection at a local hotel. This is a re-upload as the first video was far to quiet.

1:50 this is the sound that woke me up in the middle of the night while out of town for work a few weeks ago. I thought it was the phone at first but then checked the hallway and realized it was the fire alarm. When you’ve never heard this sound before and it wakes you up at 12:30 in the morning it can be a tad frightening 😅. Luckily the hotel was fine and someone had just burnt their microwave popcorn lol

Watching this video as an American, wow. this system and its "remote desktop" thing is impressive.

I believe some of Simplex panels can do that

@@coshiro1 IDK, but if you go into EST's IO-CU you'll see the front panel and you can click the buttons to reset, silence and perform a fire drill.

Hey there, I have been testing fire systems for about 20years but late last year left and went to a different job completely but still doing CCTV🙂 do you know the cost of a F100a fire panel these days please? Need one for our new house we building.
@FireAlarmNZ
@FireAlarmNZ 4 года назад
Hi Jessie good to hear from you again, hope things are going well for you. If you would like a quote for the F100A panel please email me at kynan-m@hotmail.com. Pricing is something i don't feel comfortable making public as it will vary depending on how you would like the panel configured.. cabinet size, number of amplifiers, loop expansions and so on. I can certainly help you configure and purchase the right panel for you as I have Have an account. flick me an email and we can discus further.

Im a fire alarm tech in New Plymouth and your videos are the first ive seen of a remote connection to a panel which looks so damn handy especailly for an anuual survey! saves all the back and forth from the panel to reset! Keep up the good work sir :) i love the vids :D

It has been the most worthwhile tool and only cost about $100! If you Don't mind importing things from china and spending a little time setting it up it's very handy to have. thanks for watching and glad to hear from another fire tech that's passionate about this sort of thing :)

Interesting how this system is configured. They allow a room to re-set their own smoke detector alarms, without activating any other part of the system (not even on the affected floor). I can understand there is also a heat sensor in the room to turn on the full building.... but how long does a fire have to burn from one part of the room before it activates the correct sensor to evacuate a huge building? Seems a bit counter-productive to the entire reason you have a smoke detector at all.

Thanks Alex, I'm going to make an effort in filming more but it's hard finding the time as well as not giving to much building information away. I do however need to start uploading more often.

A resort I know of has this sort of system setup. I'm surprised that resort had separate heat and smoke detector units per room instead of the all in one detectors.

I think I know the site you are referring to, didn't you share some images of it on google drive? In my experience the reason split sensors are used rather than multi criteria is simply a cost saving/ease of programming measure. I can only confirm this for Pertronic systems however.. the system you are referring to uses a Vigilant MX1 panel which may have another reason for using multiple detectors rather than multi criteria.
@mike_x48954

The panels I saw were Wormald, I don't know the complexity to program these. I found it interesting to see how the silence button affects the system, I'm presuming the constant beep tone also has an announcement like "fire alarm system has been activated, please stand by for further instructions"?
@the_alex_ellis_channel6923
@the_alex_ellis_channel6923 3 года назад
@@mike_x48954 Wormald are the main distributor for Vigilant Equipment in New Zealand, and you will often see the Vigilant name replaced with the Wormald name. Surprisingly, Wormald doesn't actually install exclusively Vigilant equipment though (however they do for like 99% of their installations)......they also install Pertronic and Ampac equipment sometimes.
