When visiting Silver Dollar City, lately I've been booking smaller resorts out on Indian Point. The location right behind the park is peaceful, quiet, and convenient. Plus I love getting to see these unique little hotels. My first stay at the Alpine Lodge was back in 2023, and I wasn't the first one there so I wasn't able to shoot a video. This time I was. The Alpine Lodge is made up of individual cabins, most of which are A-frames of various sizes. I booked one of their smallest units, but the day of our stay, they called me and gave us a free upgrade to their biggest and newest cabins. The resort was very quiet early in the year, and with the cold temps at night, they were concerned we wouldn't have adequate heat in one of the older cabins. Very thoughtful and generous of them. These newer cabins were certainly unique in their own way--likely designed in-house with a strange floorplan. Overall, the resort is very charming and well cared for, especially when factoring in how reasonably priced it is. I love the character of the cabins and layout of the resort--really makes you feel like you're staying out in the mountains. Their pool area is also beautiful, and hopefully I can show it off when we stay there during high season some time in the future. My only suggestions for management would be to invest in some new mattresses and consider repainting the Chalets with some darker tones to make them feel a little more cabin-like. An area rug and coffee table in the living room area would do a lot as well. I think that would really set them up for future success.
