I like how you never waste food, and will eat the rest later. I would do the same. Often it tastes better after some time because the flavours have infused more.
I always get a hotel room with a microwave & mini fridge for 1 or 2 nights, but for longer stays the rooms with mini kitchens are nice . I buy groceries & make my own food.
@@CheapLazyVegan I just discovered your channel and I'm sad I missed out on your vegan excursions to Thailand and Bali. Will you be hosting more trips in the future?
Hi Rose, I love your videos, by the way! I just wanted to ask if you could please make a video on which instant noodles are vegan (I know they vary depending on where you live etc.). I get really overwhelmed when I go to an Asian grocery store and try to find vegan instant noodles 😅 Maybe a video on a vegan instant noodle haul with some tips? Thanks Rose!
My favourite restaurants in Toronto are "Greens Vegetarian Restaurant" (Giant portions, excellent food, and the only place I've found vegan chicken balls), Saigon Lotus (Vegan Vietnamese restaurant, all of their food is at least 10/10 i can't even pick a fav menu item), and for fine dining "Planta" (10/10 across the menu, plus they have bottomless mimosas for weekend brunch)
i haven't tried greens!!! gonna have to try that next time :) I absolutely LOVE planta queen & also saigon lotus!! omg bottomless mimosas.... that's so good to know :)
I have always ordered vegan gingered fried beef made of tofu skins, which has an awesome chewy texture. I also loved lemon chick'un with rice noodles and szechuan seared vegetables. Sadly, our local vegan, family run Buddhist restaurant here in Victoria, BC closed its doors on April 30th. I'm a bit bummed out by this, but this will motivate me to keep batch cooking my Korean and Asian fusion stir fries at home, and save even more $$ and is better for my health. Time to go out and harvest some mustard greens from my garden for a new stir fry tonight.
I’m with you.. a mini option for one would be awesome.. like they have pupu platters for animals stuff, do the same for the vegan options haha Build your own or mix and match which ever. Cuz I’m the same. I want different bites I hate only getting one thing. Cuz then it’s like 30-60$ just for 3-4 different options when it can be 30-40$ for a bunch of mini options and can try more things. Would be a great way to showcase food items especially popular ones!
Not many vegan options in restaurants where I’m at , so I pack a small container & order a side salad, & side steamed veggies with no butter, or plain baked potato & I add the toppings I brought in a big purse . It varies, some places have more options than others. I look at the menu online in advance.
I’m in bed in Scotland after a long day of teaching, ready to go to sleep….and now I’m just dreaming of Chinese food. 😢 I’m terrible with Chinese food, I’ll keep going until I can’t breathe but my husband is mr sensible head and always has leftovers. 😊
We have 2 fullu vegan chinese places here in Winnipeg & a few others with robust vegan menus. If you're evere here you have to try Affinity, Spring Roll, Delicious Vegetarian or Lucky Koi 🥰
You need to try tenon vegan sushi in Canada , Toronto, there everywhere! So good, try their general tso , fried rice, they’re shrimp, so similar to the real thing
Love your mukbang videos, Rose! Here in New Zealand, GST is normally included on priced items. Some places will say "excludes GST". Our standard GST rate is 15%. Some of us know to add the rate if something says excludes GST but its way more logical to let consumers know exactly what they're paying for and include GST imo.
For the sales tax question. The reason they don't add it to the total is because it makes the amount seem cheaper. you feel like you are paying 14.99 (not 15.74 or 16.94). In my minimal travels I have noticed that a lot of other places you do just pay what's advertised. That along with tipping not being a thing in a lot of countries, it made me question how deceptive purchasing products in north america can be.
There's a really cute vegan bnb near Kensington Market, not too far called Sweetheart Inn. We rented the basement suite. They put out a lovely breakfast and the suite has your own table and chairs, bathroom with shower. Really cute place! It's on Henry St
Hi!!! Bali is this year and I'm not really sure if children can come along as the activities are very adult focused and it will be a big group of adults, so not sure if children will get the money's worth as they'll be paying the same $. Sorry about that!!
Yes it does feel posh 🎉 especially when it's freaking veagan. Hey i like fake meat..but hate too much bread..would have love to have the kungnpao chkn..so glad you filmed it. Yummmyyyyyy
Hotels are expensive. I spend last weekend in NJ visiting family & for a 2 nights it was $600. 😳 Bc it was a holiday, it's a weekend & by the shore. 🤦 The place was really nice.
In Ohio (US) there's no tax on food purchased at the grocery store. There's tax on clothing and food bought at a restaurant a the tax is not included. So annoying! There are states where there's no tax on anything or at least it's not figured after the price.
Girl when Padmanadi comes to Calgary this year be sure to try their ginger beef! The flavour is great! They do have weird stringy things throughout it but it’s not hair. Lol I’m not sure what it is but I think it’s part of the fruit added or something. Dendeng and their peanut satay are my faves. Dendeng is basically a chewy bit crunchy jerky in a sweet n bit spicy sauce. So good!!! Anyways love quite a few of the things fr them so I’m happy they are expanding to Calgary now :)
Taxes added after the price here in the USA - so if something is $50 - it’s $50 + tax - each state is different - where I’m at it’s 7% state tax - but I’d much rather pay a higher sales tax and have things like healthcare - which around 13% of people in my state do not have…we pay in a lot of other ways. 😢
Ate there any Chinese buffets near you? that's when you can get a variety that's what I grew up with so yummy and reminds me of going out to eat with my grandparents !!!! Yes rose I agree a cold diet coke rocks with Chinese food I also love one with a toasted garlic bagel and tofu cream cheese! !
Rose you're having too much fun 😂 Yes!! 17-20.00 dollars for 1 glass of wine??? What!! That's horrible you could buy a bottle of wine for that amount 🤪 The tax is added on your bill and then what you pay is Included already and then we may add the tip for the server or give them a cash tip either or 😊 That's true, for a nice hotel room there's several different taxes added on to your bill 😠 but I've also Stayed in some hotels that weren't so nice and they were scary 🤯 lol
Idk what my favorite chinese vegan take out would be...we don't have any vegan restaurants where I live yet and the regular Chinese restaurants all cook with meat/seafood. 🙄
For delivery it’s sick. You pay for the food, the tax, delivery charges AND tip. No wonder a lot of people don’t tip. Those fees alone would be what to give a tip. Now for delivery fees it’s going upwards of 10$ for some places!!! PLUS TAX! Tf! This is why I buy my own food at the store and cook at home I can make WAY more for the same or less! It’s not even fun anymore. It’s painful. To do much of anything. They are intentionally squeezing us into misery! They have an agenda and more and more people are seeing it clearer and clearer. We have more power than them, if only the masses would wake up and stop being so complacent!
We add taxes after like yall here in the states , there’s a few states like oregon and Montana that you don’t have to pay income tax but I believe those are the only two … Alaska might be like that two not sure
