Filmed on May 26, 2018: Here is a hotel tour of the James Joyce Coffetel Tianjin First Hotel in Tianjin, China, featuring a BEAUTIFUL old historic manually-controlled gated Otis elevator from 1928 (year seen right next to hotel's name in beginning of this video)! They have the lights turned on inside the elevator car since I was here last year, so I got a much better cab view and the view of the car switch control. I wish I could've ridden this and that it was still in service, but it's nice that they kept the elevator as an exhibition display (most historic properties wanted rip out or modernize their elevators). The passenger elevator itself is just a plain, basic stainless-steel XiZi Otis with 2000 halo fixtures; nothing special at all. It appeared that this hotel was renovated in 2008, according to what the staff told me when the regular elevator was installed. After shooting this video, there was a lady in the front desk (not the girl seen in this video) who knew me when I came here last year that could have her boss who as a key to let me access the elevator car the next morning, but my dad and I had to leave at 7:30 AM (her boss comes in like at either 8 or 9 AM). But STILL thanks to her for trying to arrange it anyways!!!! :D Maybe next time.
