Something a lot of people don't realize is that the game's ending also reflexes on one of the most controversial parts of the story, which is the point of view of each character. For example we all feel sympathetic towards The Henchman even though we spend a lot of time killing hundreds of other Russians who also must have a backstory each, but we don't care about them because we can't see things from their POV. In this case, the ending can look pretty forced and unrelated at first, but quickly makes sense since it implies we are watching the consequences of a group of unknown people's actions on the rest of the cast, and those actions would make sense if the game was about the General's crusade up to that point, just like the second game heavily relies on telling the consequences and influence of Jacket's actions in the life of everyone else. It all wraps up at the end

It's very smart of the developers of the game to not include what happened to Biker. Biker had the information to stop 50 Blessing's and save the world. I think he may still be alive. I don't think Richard would let him go out in the nuclear explosion, because I imagine Richard wanted Biker to see what he could have stopped.
@@skraal7986 He clearly came back temporarily to see Jacket's trial. He most likely fled later, probably for his life. If 50 Blessing's knew he was back in Miami, they would have tried to get rid of him since Biker knows too much.
I'm not even gonna lie, I was holding it all together until Richard said "Leaving this world is not as scary as it sounds." Completely sobbed through the entire credits after that, that line stabbed me in the fuckin heart man

the dialogue below made me feel something I cant really explain but its not bad or good either. it may be mentomori but im not sure. its kind of a feeling like anxiety, sadness, depression and that wierd kind of acceptence of a bad thing happening. everyone knows that feeling, it doesnt makes you feel good, it makes you feel bad but you like it. you like the way you feel and that sadness, you dont wanna let it go but hang into it so you can feel something. every emotionally supressed modern men knows this feeling. +No need to fight it then. -Im glad you understand. -Leaving this world is not scarry as it sounds...
A lot of people talk about how when you restart the game in Hard Mode, Biker is absent during the extra cutscene, which lead to the conclusion that he lived. I don't know if there will ever be a Hotline Miami 3, but if there is one, I'll be there to see the story.
Iirc the devs have stated that they're never making a third game and so far they've stuck to that. I hope to one day get a gameplay successor though, even if the plot is completely unrelated.
Those that stopped while they were ahead won the game. Sure, the chances of them figuring out sooner were all thrown away, and there's no getting that back. But as much as it was a terrible turn of events spending your last few moments in peace and contentment is nothing short of catharsis, more than any mass killing could give you anyway. Richter spending it with his mother, Evan dining with his family, Jacket doing the bare minimum and awaiting the appointed time, having learned his lesson in full. Leaving this world is not as scary as it sounds, press R to try again.
Honestly have no idea. I would think if he got out of Miami before the nuke dropped. he had about two months to do it, but he was also an alcoholic, so there is a decent chance he did.
I had absolutely no idea what the hell was going on in this game's story, including that the final scenes are depicting a nuke, and that the Son jumped off a building.
its weird because you'd think the sound at the start of the song wasnt from the song and was the nuke sound, kinda what i imagined they wouldve made it sound like

The only way I could see Jacket being Canon in Payday 2 is if the crew broke him out of the prison cell before that nuke. Otherwise... **He gone son.**
@@themintycafe5208 Jacket is the guy wearing the mask, but the mask itself is called Richard. I think its most likely an impostor in payday 2 who just found the Richard (Rooster) mask and is pretending to be jacket. Jacket's mask wasn't with him during the explosion so there is a chance that someone else found it and it survived. The case was also highly publicized in the media within the game so it could have easily been a copycat.

@@Relaxdude123 Both games end with a quiet and thoughtful denouement, followed by a cutscene showing every character from the game being wiped from existence as a wistful credits song plays.
Russia nuked Miami, but 50 blessings assassinated the Russian president causing them to launch the nuke. There were many more operatives working with 50B than just the ones we saw in the game.
