I ran into the same issue with the expression pedal using a TRS cable. Like the previous comment has stated using a TS cable will most likely solve it. I found that some expression pedals work with a TRS cable and some will only work with a TS cable. I think for programming and sending messages it works excellent. My biggest problem with it is the screen not because it’s blurred but because it gives very little information. Because it is so hard to keep track of what bank you are on I mostly only use it for 1 bank and just use it to send global commands to my MC8 for things like bank up, bank down and page toggle. I thought about using an old iPhone with a midi app on it that I could setup as a display to let me know what bank I am on and what each button is programmed to control. Thanks for taking the time to make the video.
I'm glad I'm not the only one. Thanks for the insight. I agree, you basically need to keep this midi controller simple for it to work best. Without a proper screen you can forget what bank/patch you are on.
I was about to buy one to use with Red Panda's Particle 2. I want to see the preset number I'm using (Particle 2 doesn't have a display). I looked up the cons of the Ampero and found your video. Then reading in detail on the Ampero site, examples of connections are given and it is mentioned in "Using Ampero Control's MIDI IN jack", at the end of the explanation "Ampero Control cannot be controlled by other MIDI devices at present". Thanks for your work, testing and clarity.
I got one and, as a complete newbie, have not found it too hard to set up. However, while using it for the third time, it forgot all of my pedal settings while is was actually using it. I reprogrammed them in and am hoping this was a one off glitch but it’s made me slightly nervous about using it in a live setting now.
Gracias por el video, amigo. Quería saber si has probado con tareas simultáneas.
Hello! Yes, that should all be possible if your device allows it. The Hotone ampero control can send multiple messages from one press of the footswitch. So you just need to program it carefully using the app. Thanks for your question.
One more thing. Usually turning on the reverb or gate is an easy command. You mentioned raising the booster a little and changing the gate threshold. These commands are more complex and it depends if your device will allow it.
@@zaulkin Yeah i set it up this way. But when i have multiple messages in one bank, I have to press it multiple times to send each one individually. some midi controllers have setting to sent more of them. Thanks for answer
Hi Nik i saw differents videos that you and made, im from Colombia, and I think that in spanish we dont the same content, we need people that do content just like you, well if you notice, my english is not the bets, but i hope so you can understanme. I found this video and I want to ask you, if can I use this Controller like expression pedal with the momentary mode?, and maybe if you know, it is compatible with line 6 M series (m5, m9 and m13) thank you for your time and your videos.
Hi Johnny. Wow, thanks so much. I appreciate your comment. Yes, this controller will work with the Line 6 M series. You will have to read both manuals to program it correctly. I think maybe you could use momentary mode for expression (hold effect) but I never tried that. I think It's better to use an expression pedal (a rocker style one like a wah).
Great video and thank you for sharing! I have a question about noise. I’ve used a Morningstar midi controller in the past with an HX Stomp and noticed noise through my Marshall Studio Classic tube amplifier. The noise was gone when I removed it from the board. Have you used this with a tube amp and was there any noise? Thank you in advance for your thoughts.
Hi there, no worries and thanks for the comment. I never had any issues with noise. This pedal doesn't send audio, so my guess is that it's to do with your power supply. How are you powering this pedal? If you are using a daisy chain method, that's likely to be the problem.
Is it possible to connect exp pedal in ctrl/exp input and also 2 additional exp pedals in this controller. Will it all functionable or there will be compromises?
@@zaulkin i talked only about hotone stomp 2. Jus was dissapointed that normally you just can add double footswitch via exp/ctrl input or exp pedal and you need to choose between. But it looks like with controller in video you can add exp pedals and ctrl input will remain free
Just checked their website, and it’s a midi thru- which is perfect for me as I want to send midi clock through to the delay and looper after the controller :)
