As the son of the late owner of the largest commercial dry cleaning and laundry factory in New York City I would like to suggest that people avoid laundry pods and return to using either liquid or powder detergents. My reason being that detergent pods can't be modulated in quantity with the amount of laundry used which can result in faded clothing. Also since bed linens are woven with each strand of fabric reaching from one side of the sheet to the other in a single continuum it's best to wash them in cool or warm water but not hot water so that they continue to drape correctly and not warp. If you want them sanitized you can add some vinegar to the wash or bleach if the sheets are white. As an aside I'd like to add that if you'd like to keep your glassware for a long time stop using dishwasher pods. Those of you who are familiar with Lalique crystal may know that the satin finish surface is achieved by a process known as acid etching where the smooth clear surface of the glasss is washed off with acid. If you've ever noticed that your drinking glasses appear to be rained on and it can't be washed off it's because too much detergent has been used in the dishwasher over a long period and the glasses have become acid etched and ruined. If you examine the interior of the detergent dispenser on a dishwasher there are three small hash marks. Each line is a level that indicates the amount of detergent that should be used for your local water hardness level. If you use the minimal amount needed to return clean dishes and glasses then you should be able to keep your glasses and flatware forever. Yes flatware turns cloudy too but can bee polished. Consumable manufacturers really don't care if your glasses or clothing doesn't last long. They only want to sell detergent. If the consumer perceives that it's more convenient they'll buy it and pay more.

Dorian just found this feature on my Hotpoint! Granted not as flash as yours but still has the option to change to 90, never knew that as same as you I thought 60 was the max. Do you had the clean plus cycle that is like the maintenance option? It’s usually hold down the delay timer button. That gets very hot! So knew the machine was capable to go hotter than 60. Did the Pods smell nice?
