@@EDCandLace exactly. Italian knives are the best quality for the best price! Why settle for Chinese junk when you can have Italian craftsmanship? Only USA can compete!
@elgatofelix8917 Chinese factories are regularly making better knives than all the major American knife companies. Don't let your xenophobia cloud reality. Facts don't care about your feelings or nationalism. I wish American companies were producing knives with the quality and pricing of the comparable Chinese brands. That's why most of the American brands have been going to China for manufacturing of even their $300+ knives. The Chinese are just as capable, if not more capable, of high level craftsmanship as any other ethnicity. They built the longest running civilization in human history. They built a wall hundreds of years ago that you can see from space. They aren't stupid or lazy people. Spyderco is almost the only major American brand making good quality for the money and most of those models are being made in Japan and Taiwan, very few of their models are made in America. And they only do that because they make utility knives, ask them to put dressy handles or steel on an American knife and they're going to want $400 for it. Benchmade is overpriced brand hype. CRKT is so uninspiring. Either actual Chinese junk or bad pricing for what you get for the American stuff. Kershaw is in a similar boat, the Kershaw lines are either Chinese or overpriced. ZT is actually worthwhile and a good value to money. ZT might actually be the best example of good quality for the price for actually made in USA knives from a major brand. And all the mid-tech and boutique brands have most of their designs produced by the same three factories in China. Reate is regularly crushing brands like Benchmade, CRKT, Kershaw, and even Spyderco. China is regularly giving us legitimate grade 5 Titanium frame lock knives with 59+ HRC M390 steel for under $250. This was unthinkable in American knife manufacturing just 8 years ago. In fact, the Chinese factories got so good they are now able to charge MORE than the American brands for a lot of their product because the quality and materials are there. When you can get grade 5 or 6 Ti handles with well heat treated super steel or some gorgeous Damasteel with some exotic inlays like Mokuti or Zirconium for under $600 from the major Chinese factories.... just wow. Benchmade would want $2.5k for that and they'll be jerks to you about it.
@@elgatofelix8917also Lion Steel and FOX are almost the only Italian factories making stuff that regularly beats the Americans and the Chinese for price to quality. Who else were you thinking of when thinking so highly of Italian knifemaking? The Japanese have been way ahead of the Italians for decades. The Italians have contributed almost NOTHING to modern knife metallurgy, design, materials introduction, etc. America, Japan, and China are by far the most responsible for the evolution of pocket knives and why we have such insanely good quality pocket knives today in 2024. That said, Lion Steel (and Fox for that matter) have been crushing the big American brands for about 10 years.
I'm a cable tech I use my knifes to cut boxes open, cut branches when in the woods, cut jacket off cables, and many other uses. I would like to see the test implement one of those types of cuts.
Thank you so much for the shout-out and kind words! I definitely like that sheepsfoot Lionsteel! Gong to have to look into one for my traditional Tuesday videos. Great job fellas!
Dude is all about the words “On that” lol. M390 ON THAT blade steel. Micarta ON THAT blade scale and don’t forget “RIGHT THERE”!!! lol love y’all’s videos though. I need to see more “in stock” knives ON THAT website RIGHT THERE! lol. Love yall.
I bought yalls last PF Victor about a month ago in store and have carried it every day since then and love it so much. Definitely plan on getting the newer aluminum handle model asap
Flipper delete on the vector for sure with being able to reverse with fuller. Humming bird is a mean box cutter. Now that lion steel slip joint is a chefs. kiss. I wish more would do the removable flippers. Awesome shout out Brian is a cool cat. Have an amazing day brothers
Yeah I agree 💯 he is the guy that reached out to help me from the get go. Thank you all for the love you show my channel as well as so many others. Much appreciated and much love to the SMKW CREW
This is my first time watching one of these and I can't wait to do it again, two knives I've added to my "gotta buy" list and a couple more I want to read more into.
Great show Boyz, as usual! Digging the new Lionsteel knives... In my pocket today is the MASSIVELY UNDERATED Spyderco Swayback... I bought my Swayback a few months back & it immediately kicked everything else out of my pocket! This knife ROCKS, full titanium & sharp as a razor !!! People definitely slept on the Spyderco Swayback!😮😮😮
The sway back is slept on hugely, first reason is because when people see pics of it on stock photos they think it's a far smaller knife than it is and that slows it's sells because as you know it's a full size knife. I got one last year new for 160 bucks and its crazy good at that price. Even at normal price it's a banger.
We would love to but due to shipping rectrions and international knife laws that can be a bit of a problem but thanks for watching and for the comments 👍
@@pandafox94 not really. I buy all my knives from knife center and its reasonably priced. I stay in south africa and most knife brands and models are not available in RSA. My only option is to import and the dollar is already killing us. so whats a courier fee in regards to otherwise unobtainable knives?
That EXO gravity knife is sweet. The hummingbird if cute. I like the Lion Steel Shuffler spear point. I'm not sure how traditional I would call them but they are cool. So I guess you're not going all Joe-X on the knife. LOL. I would put it through some construction site and camp site tests.
You guys really want to put a knife through he!!. I suggest a construction site. Roofing would be another. That would definitely put a strain on the blade.
Isn't K110 just name brand D2? Hopefully you still have the exotech in stock on the 15th. Ive been wanting a full size one for a while. Cut some electrical wire I'm carrying a case Barlow cv from 1979 and a lt wright patriot
You are right, it is integral, but monolithic also applies. Monolithic does not just refer to stone, in machining and fabrication it refers to anything that is formed or composed of one piece of material without joints or seams
When are people gonna tell the knife makers pocket clips suck? They are almost pointless, you either have to take the knife out of your pocket to get to other items or take the back of your hand across the knife to get other stuff I have a cutpot half filled with pocket clips and the screws that go with them
It is more purple than pink but smkw.com/petrified-fish-hummingbird-framelock-satin-m390-blade-purple-titanium-handle/ and be sure to click the notify me when button so when it comes back in stock you willl get a email 👍
damn... the one blade i watched this for, coincidentaly the smallest blade is still 100$ because they decided to make the handle from titanium! SMH no thanks.... waste of time
In the machining a fabrication world, which I have a fair bit of experience in, monolithic is a term used to defined something "cast as a single piece" or "formed or composed of material without joints or seams" so while yes, they are marketed and described as integral which is correct, monolithic is also an apt descriptor.
lol....i see costs of those knives and just....im live in Belarussia (NOT russia) and most expensive knive i have in collection is fc 100$. And it was my wifes 30th birthday present....all others max cost is 20$. Just 450$ is f way too expensive. half of my salary. wtf in this knives rly.....juist ior[jdhosj
If you want to see the knives only please check out or daliy short videos as they focus in only on the knives. The longer forms like these are about the knives and short reviews and opinons while showing them off
That hummingbird has such an awesome design! but being a Canadian, I'll have to patiently wait and cross my fingers a canadian shop starts sellin' them 🙃 As for what I Carry, at the moment it's the Arcane - Plexus.
